This was horrible. We got there shortly after they opened and the place was dead...only one waitress and one person cooking, so that was pretty normal for the time. The waitress wasn't overly friendly and just seemed a little weird. She told us to seat ourselves and then she brought us menus and took our drink order. I ordered a large orange juice and it came in such a small glass, I can't even imagine how small the actual small would be. We ordered our food and as we were waiting, I noticed the waitress put a big white container into the microwave for a long cook time but I didn't see what was in it. As we were waiting, she brought us a plate with butter and syrup for the pancakes and was pretty good about refilling the water glasses. Two people ordered pancakes and yet she brought us one tiny little container of syrup, which seemed odd. I saw the cook putting up our plates of food in the window but I didn't see my order, which was country fried steak. Then I saw him walk around to the front and he opened the microwave while it was still going and he grabbed the big plastic container out of it and brought it back to the kitchen. Then 5 seconds later my country fried steak was in the window. We got our food and it looked okay. The skillet looked good, apart from the fact that it wasn't served in an actual skillet. Both orders of pancakes looked good, the chocolate chip ones had visible chocolate chips in the batter. But the country fried steak plate looked horrible. The steak itself was really small and oddly shaped, the hashbrowns looked very well done and you could tap it with your fork and easily tell how crispy they were. The gravy was sooo thin and it was just dumped on the plate, it was on everything. My scrambled eggs were drenched with this liquidy gravy, which was piping hot from being in the microwave, so I'm pretty sure it cooked the eggs a little bit more because the eggs were terrible. Don't pour sausage gravy on a customer's eggs unless they specifically ask for it, because I hate it and that made me not want to eat any of them. The steak looked really crispy, even if it was very small. I tried cutting it with the steak knife provided but it was incredibly tough to even cut. It was even tougher to chew. It was so overcooked and chewy and it had a bad taste to it, mixed with the bad gravy, it was a horrible dish. The pancakes looked good but they were also very rubbery and chewy. It didn't matter if we put syrup on them before or after cutting them, they were really hard to cut. You couldn't use a fork to just cut off a piece, you had to really like saw them apart with your knife for them to cut all the way through, and then they weren't even very good, they were chewy. We did ask for another syrup since there were two of us. Also ordered a side of sausage links which were overcooked as well, they were so crispy and shriveled up and dry. The skillet was also very dry, even with the broken egg yolks mixed in. The prices weren't very reasonable for the area. This was the most expensive country fried steak dish I've seen in any of the surrounding cities, it was $13 and also the smallest steak I've had, not to mention the worst. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I left here hungry and...

Dissapointed and will never go back , first time there the waitress was really good at sales trying to sell us alot of different drinks they have well we ordered an orange juice and my partner ordered a alcoholic beverage, the waitress was like we have this watermelon drink that is really good and Iam not a watermelon fan so I said no than she was trying to sell my partner more drinks and she said well we have this and he accepted that drink and said scratch off the watermelon drink because he was going to take that watermelon drink and he said scratch that one and bring me the other one she still brought the watermelon drink , also my order came with hashbrowns and he said put cheese and onions on it well she brought out a side of hashbrowns out with the cheese which is an extra charge we didn’t want that side of hashbrowns we just wanted the cheese on mine the bill cane out to 100 bucks I could see right through her sales and I even told her about the hashbrown mix up and still charged us for hashbrowns and watermelon drink that we didn’t want I feel like she was trying to pull a fast one on us than we callled for a itemized receipt she said we will text it to u never did !! Instead of trying to sell us on all these drinks maybe the waitress should listen better...

My friend and I have met there for several years. Yesterday was an exceptionally busy day at their resturant and we ended up sitting in a round booth near the front door. We had lunch and I was sitting across from my friend. I am over 70 and sitting with one leg under the other. When I uncrossed my legs, I felt something sharp scratch my legs. After a couple of minutes, I looked at my left leg. I then looked at what caused the shredded lg and all of the upholesterly staples along the seam had broken, leaving knife edged staple ends exposed. They brought me napkin to absorb the blood. They never offer any first aid, never took a report, never said they were sorry, and charged me full price for the meal. The youngest daughter said they call the upholesterly man and good bye! That is lacking in businees skills, etiquitte, good sense, and human caring. We won't be going back for a meal again. What a horrible way to treat someone injured due to no fault of their own and a horrible way to act towards a...

✨ Woodstock Wednesday – December Feature: Isabel’s Family Restaurant ✨ This month, I’m excited to spotlight a true Woodstock gem: Isabel’s Family Restaurant. I recently had the pleasure of meeting the wonderful family behind this beloved diner, and it’s easy to see why customers have been coming here for years. The moment you walk in, you can feel the warmth of a tight-knit community — everyone knows each other, everyone has a favorite dish, and everyone had nothing but love to share about the food and the people who make it. Mary and her husband Antonio opened Isabel’s 21 years ago this month, proudly naming it after their second-youngest daughter. Two decades later, they remain deeply involved in the community and continue to give back in countless ways. Their family is always present, working together, cooking with love, and treating every guest like family. It’s truly beautiful to see the passion and heart behind the amazing place they’ve created. If you haven’t been yet, make sure to stop by and enjoy their delicious menu — from hearty breakfasts to comforting lunches, authentic Mexican dishes, and daily specials. There’s something for everyone at Isabel’s, and once you visit, you’ll understand why this diner has been a Woodstock favorite for over two decades. ❤️🍳🌮 #bairdwarner #communityspotlight #discoverwoodstock #eatlocal #shoplocal

Isabels is a local staple of Woodstock. Farm to table and always fresh, there has never been anything here that's disappointing. Quite frankly, this review is years overdue as I probably have been a patron since I was a kid. Nothing has ever disappointed. Today, they even made a steak sandwich, which is not even a menu item, and it was fantastic. Today is also the first time I've tried a soup weirdly enough; and it did NOT disappoint. Usually, I order the burrito suiza with fresh jalapeñoes inside of it, but, the change of pace was not a mistake at all. My partner also got the charred pineapple mojito, and, not even being a mojito fan, the small sip I stole was excellent. If you're in the Woodstock area, you'd be making a mistake to not stop in to Isabels for a bite. (Also, they have fresh guacamole on request and it is INCREDIBLE -- definitely 100% worth the price.)
