I got here and there wasn’t anyone to greet me. I stood there not knowing if I should seat myself until finally a waiter told me to sit down. The lunch Fajitas were 9.95 and a below average portion size. Ok, whatever. They brought chips and salsa and the container was so small you literally couldn’t get a half chip into it. I will say the 6 chips of size were fresh tasting but I couldn’t say that for the “crumble pile” underneath those. The service was really the issue. I had to wave down someone to bring me a second teaspoon portion of salsa. At least 45% of the basket of chips were a quarter size or smaller. I had to ask for a refill and have been sitting here 15 mins now and not been offered another refill. There are no smiles or acting like they are glad you are here. Honestly, I’m being ignored so much I could have left without paying my bill 30 minutes ago and odds are no one would notice I left. If they close every other Mexican restaurant in a sixty mile radius, then come here if you must. My suggestion would be to fill up your tank and drive 61 miles to visit a place that is...
Read moreLa Tortilla in McCalla, AL, delivered an excellent dining experience from start to finish. When we arrived, the restaurant was busy, but we immediately got a table, meaning no wait time, which was a pleasant surprise. Despite the crowd, the service was top-notch—the staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was just right.
We started with chips and salsa, and they did not disappoint. The chips were fresh and crispy, while the salsa had a great balance of flavor and spice. I also had a couple of waters, and the refills were quick and consistent.
For my meal, I ordered street tacos, choosing chorizo and al pastor. Both were authentic and full of flavor—the chorizo was rich and savory, while the al pastor had that perfect blend of spice and sweetness from the pineapple. Each bite was packed with well-seasoned meat, making for a truly satisfying meal.
Overall, La Tortilla impressed me with its great food, excellent service, and no wait time. I would definitely go back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic...
Read moreI stopped in to pick up dinner a couple of weeks ago. I called in what I wanted. When I got to the restaurant, they said they didn't have my order. So I reordered it. After waiting a few minutes I decided to go ahead and pay for my meals. It was 22.00 dollars. I ordered soft taco dinner with ground beef. I also ordered a Burito Supreme for my friend. I also asked for cheese sauce . Small. They brought my order out and it was tied tight. So I didn't check it. When I got to my friends house. We talked for a while and then opened our dinner. I had 2 tacos no tomato or cheese there wasn't any rice or beans. My friend had a large flour tortilla with a little bit of ground beef and nothing else. We did get some cheese dip and we used it on the food. I know what you're thinking why did I not take it back. It was raining very hard and was getting cold out. I know now to never take something with out...
