This place is like a time capsul...nothing changes. Still has an odd smell, a little shabby, prices are crazy high, limited menu, not the most friendly place.
Great ice cream sundaes, even though they use Weis brand ice cream.
Two things that have always gotten to me.
The place is so quite,,,no music in the dinning room...even though the owner knows this, he still lets it be so quite, no joke, I have heard the person sitting at the next table, could hear his stomach making sounds, GROSS! Take ten bucks, go to Dollar General and buy a radio and stick it on the counter.
The other thing that gets me...the owner is very by the book and , I'm guessing, get every penny he can. Have never seen a restaurant with odd prices...$4.87, $6.28, $8.64, $9, 07. Huh? You need to get the exact percentage on each item...instead of $9.07, make the price $8.95...looks better, sounds cheaper and it doesn't make you look like a greedy place. You need that 12 cents that bad? If you worry about loosing 12 cents, what must go on in the kitchen to save money. Prices end in .95, 99 or...

Read moreI heard a lot that it is not "typical" bbq but i wanted to try it anyway. I just moved to the area from NJ where one of the best bbq joints ever is and that includes comparing it to places in Texas and such.
It is also my wife and my tradition to get bbq after picking up our christmas tree. So far it looks like that tradition will have to be altered as the search goes on for good bbq in PA.
The service was good but the place was empty. Just us and 1 other table around 7:30 on a fridauly night.
It is definitely not typical bbq. We both got pork sandwick platters. It was okay. Considering they only make a handful of sandwiches and fried food, i wouldnt go back and try anything else and my wife agrees.
She took her sandwich home, rinsed off the sauce and reheated it in her own cuncoction.
Definitely see why we were told to not bother...
