On boycott Friday of last week, I decided to patronize some local spots in Swedesboro. It came highly suggested to visit one of the oldest local candy shops - in business for over 115 years. Damask’s Candies is family owned and operated going on four generations! It’s a cute little shop just off of Route 322 between industrial and development sites. The location offers plenty of parking. Once inside, one is bombarded with so many choices of candy, it took a moment for my eyes to adjust. It is all currently Easter candy as that is their next big holiday. There are so many different choices of chocolates and sugary candy, there is something for everyone. Since I did not have anything in mind, I was really just perusing, it took me a moment to decide what to try. I went with the homemade candied robin eggs. Definitely higher quality and taste compared to what you’re going to get in a chain retail store. Many of my photos were not for a review, but for what I am going to show my teenagers and ask what they would like when I return to stock up for the holiday. Definitely recommend that you check it out if you’re filling up the baskets for Easter or looking for a “sweet” gift. #trustkj

I was passing through the area. My wife likes chocolate, so I stopped in to see what a had. I was partially excited because it appeared to be a small, family owned business. They had a nice selection to choose from. The young woman behind the counter was pleasant, informative and patient. I nibbled on a few pieces while in the truck...fresh and delicious. They had some clocolate covered, hazelnut pieces, so my wife was really pleased when I got them home, as those are her favorite. Good quality, good customer service, highly recommended.

I am a returning customer for the BEST chocolate covered peanut butter eggs. Various chocolate covered sweets. Hand dipped chocolate made with love. Small establishment with great customer service. If you haven't been to Damask candies, it is a must, especially around Easter.

Most of the crafted chocolates are good, some are very good. In particular, I liked the Easter-seasonal chocolate-dipped peanut butter and coconut cream eggs and the malted milk ball "robin eggs." I was not impressed with the regular line of chocolate candy. Prices are probably average for a small business candy maker and maybe better than average for the bagged delights like gummies and other sweets. It's an easy stop on a main road & I would stop again while coming through for the few items I especially liked. But I would not get carried away and try lots of items like I would in some other candy stores because it seems like a hit or miss to get something scrumptious. And I don't think I am overly picky about my sweet tooth. Who knows? Maybe there's a rolling variety of items & I was just visiting at a time when they didn't have my favorites. I'm a hopeful type and try to keep an open mind ;) If I fare any better on a future visit I'll be sure to...

I discovered this little gem several years ago on a search for a memory of my childhood. I'm 60 now but fondly remember the Christmas' of my youth. Every Christmas my grandfather would prepare a huge round tray as big as the table filled with nuts, fruit, and candies. My favorite were the clear toy/barley pops. Just thinking of them takes me back in time. I haven't seen them since I was a child. I started searching for them online and would find someone who made them only to find out they didn't make them anymore. As I was passing by Damask a few days before Christmas, I decided to stop and check it out. What did I find as soon as I walked in but clear toy candy!! What a delightful surprise. I left with several bags of my favorite candy. Now it finally felt like Christmas ❤️❤️❤️. In addition to delicious clear toy candy, I was given several samples of chocolates to sample by the very nice and friendly people that work there. ❤️ I will see you soon....
