Iron Pony Saloon — Restaurant in Wooster

In my experiences (2) we had bad time at both and to get there we ride approx 55miles. The service is extremely slow and unprofessional. Both parties at the table ordered appetizers as entree. All the plates came out at different times. The waitress could not keep up on our drinks for some reason, it's not like the building was packed.

The second time we were there same thing happened except this time the food came out terrible. My mozzarella squares cold, the wings a buddy and I ordered (hella hot) the hottest sauce, both came out mild and cold. Not cold refrigerator cold, but out of the fryer and cooled off cold. The turkey club my wife got was smashed, flat and did not even look appetizing. Bread as thin as it could possibly be smashed. And finally the beef french dip sandwich was extremely bland and had very little/no flavor whatsoever. It was almost like they were telling us not to come there to eat, which we understand, and is why we wont be back..

I give a one star based on service, quality and "speedyness" which all three...

Ordered a Bacon & Cheddar Burger. The burger came absolutely plain besides cheap shredded Colby Cheese and 1 slice of sad floppy, soggy bacon. All this excitement was held back by the driest bun the kitchen help could find. On the side, after having a long swim in the oil that came with the building!! Were the nastiest, unsalted fries I've ever been served. The coleslaw was rancid but eatable to most I'm assuming, thanks to being laden with vinegar. And, the flies!! Flies and gnats like you wouldn't believe!! The boyfriend had the prime rib and mashed potatoes. The gravy was instant, the potatoes were stiff as a board and the prime rib looked like they thought it was gonna season itself. Food looks good but never is. Steaks are always fatty, thin, too much char and generally not cooked to order properly. I've had rare meat burned on the outside multiple times vs medium. Burger is grainy meat like a Swiss steak and does not taste good. It's rather expensive for the small portions you get here too. Drinks are a bit pricey but reasonable. However for all the Jack Daniels signs on the walls there is no way they actually serve JD here.

The bar itself is really cool, definitely my type of place but the food/drinks/service are lacking. My buddy lives near this joint so we stop in from time to time regrettably. Nothing has ever been good but there are few options in this area. Whenever possible I say stretch your legs, wet your whistle and ride a bit farther to eat in...
