Quinsigamond Village Bakery and Cafe — Restaurant in Worcester

I came in around 6 or 7 am on opening day and i’m not going to lie, it was kinda in shambles, coffees not being made because they didn’t know someone ordered it, food not knowing whether or not it was to go or to dine in, i ordered some pastries and a coffee and the pastries was not so freshly made, the croissant was not flaky or super fresh n kinda dry, the cookies idk if it was helen’s bakery’s recipe but im not gonna lie, staff i think you gotta get a new recipe cuz that chocolate chip cookie was not it. BUT the staff was so nice, the sweet old lil lady in the back was super nice, i love the atmosphere i love the staff i love the variety but it just doesn’t hit the mark in terms of baked goods or service, but again its the first day i KNOW it’ll be better in the future. Food was not up to par with the price. Overpriced for mediocre food. I live down the street and I was a regular at the previous Helen’s bakery which it used to be for years. I understand the new aesthetic of the place is pleasing to the eye. However I will say that the food at Helen’s bakery was fresh right off the grill and very great pricing which was half as much as the food cost there today. Helen’s bakery didn’t have too many coffee options. Either hot or iced coffee for under $4. The other day I tried a pumpkin spice iced latte for $9 that couldn’t compare to the quality of their old coffee. I was so excited to try this place. I will start by saying that the staff were wonderful and the style inside is really nice. However, there is no sound proofing so when they run their blenders, or kids are running around playing, you can't hear anything.

I got the banh mi sandwich. Meat was VERY dry, there were hardly any veggies or sauce on too big of a roll, making the whole sandwich dry and tasteless. We also tried an almond pastry/roll, which had very little flavor as well. There's hardly any choices for non-specialty drinks either. I do hope these are growing pains, but I unfortunately won't...
