This is going to be a staple of my son's childhood.
In an ambling drive around the hilltowns, my wife and I saw a sign for a Sugar Shack Buffet this past Summer. After some Googling, we decided to revisit in the Fall. Well, we went this past weekend, and it was everything I hoped it would be and more.
The food here is pretty good. It's not going to blow your hair back, but it's fairly priced and there is nothing wrong with it. The syrup is excellent and brings everything together wonderfully. The ambience is fantastic. From the haunted house entryway to the rocks on the floor, this whole experience is greater than the sum of its parts. The staff are all super friendly, the owner walks around chatting with guests, and all the young people they've employed to serve and clean up have surprisingly upbeat demeanors.
I can not recommend this enough. If I lived in the area, we'd go every weekend. As it stands, we'll try to make it a bi-yearly thing. 10/10,...

The bacon and linked sausage and pumpkin spice pancakes were good. I had OJ and good coffee. The gift shop has all kind of Chotskees (sic) and a big bag of Maple Sugar Cotton Candy for $5.00.
