Carlos, the owner of Texas Longhouse Mead (or TLM among friends), is a man of unending passion. And thankfully for all of us, his passion is making great mead. He puts in tremendous effort and consideration into his meads to ensure that only the highest quality products reach his customers.

From subtle traditionals to bold berry meads, TLM does justice to all the styles he makes, and the numerous meadmaking awards he humbly glosses over are proof enough of his dedication to product quality.

The folks of Wylie, Texas, are quite fortunate to have such a rare and amazing place in their backyard. This place is definitely worth the drive from anywhere in the greater DFW...

Warm and cozy tasting room, comfortable and nicely decorated. The owners and staff were friendly and welcoming and the meads were outstanding. If you're not familiar with mead (honey wine) it's well worth trying. If you are familiar, they have some really unique ones to try (12 varieties on tap the day we visited), all were distinct, clean and well made. Most were sweet to semi-sweet, ranging from easy drinking 6% to very easy drinking 13%. We especially liked Skald (still mead aged in barrels) and Tyr's Vindrue (Malbec pyment!). Will definitely want to come back. I'd love y'all to make a really dry sparkling...
