How do I cram everything I want to say about The Front Porch Bake Shop into one review? I was an early enthusiast of Susan’s baking during “lockdown” in 2020, and have thoroughly enjoyed watching the growth of this brilliant concept. When it was time to order a special event cake for my parents’ surprise 50th anniversary dinner, I didn’t look anywhere else. The Front Porch Bake Shop website is easy to navigate, ordering a custom cake was a breeze, and WOW! The final product was DAZZLING!. My requests were broad: “the best chocolate cake you make, whatever filling you think is best, vanilla buttercream icing, and nice decorations. My parents’ go-to flower is daffodil, but just something pretty.” The cake was spectacular: beautifully iced, ombre yellow, with custom sugar daffodils, gold flake, and color accents adorning a chocolate cake with chocolate ganache filling. STUNNING and delicious. At least three friends said to me, “That might be the most gorgeous cake I’ve ever seen!” Staff at the clubhouse marveled at it, and when I told some WHS alumni, “Dr. Thackara made it!” they were so impressed. I relied on Susan’s expertise for cake size; she nailed it. I added two dozen of their signature Sea Salt Double Chocolate Chip Cookies to my order, individually wrapped so my family could take them home as favors. The woman who makes the cupcakes is super friendly. There are multiple ways to pay just in case you don't have cash she takes card, venmo and check. And the cupcakes were so delicious. Love the rotating flavors every week!

Edit: 2 years later and we had Susan make our wedding cake and cupcakes. We also had vegan brownies.q She was absolutely wonderful to work with. Her tasting was absolutely amazing and we were able to taste a variety of combinations of cakes, filling and icing. It was such a personal experience. She was super responsive whenever we had a question. Of course the cakes and cupcakes were delicious.
