Thelma's Kitchen — Restaurant in Yazoo City

If if if any of you are in the Mississippi area or passing through, do NOT let this place pass you by! I ordered my food in a to go box with the thought of eating some on the road...it was soOoOo good I ate it all right there at the restaurant!!!!! The service here is the true definition of southern hospitality! The family that owns/operates this restaurant will make you feel like apart of the family so quick. My kids didn't speak during lunch, that's unheard of for 8boys! The boys were so busy eating and each of them had clean plates! The chicken is so moist inside and the breading is seasoned so good and crispy! Everything is seasoned so nicely...If I could give over...

Title: Perfect way to conclude the road trip

On the way back to Arkansas, after celebrating my mother's birthday, my son and I were searching for places to eat... we came across Thelma's... and man! It was everything all the previous reviews mentioned. I had roast w. mash potatoes, greens and butter beans (who allows 3 sides anymore w. out charging the customer extra???) the roast was so tender, creamy mash potatoes topped w cheese and bacon (SPUDS YALL!!!), the greens and beans cooked to perfection! Everything had the right amount of flavor... great find, will definitely return when in the area! Thanks to the team @...

I had the chicken breast and kids had hamburger steak. There aren’t many other good options in the area, so if you’re hungry for a hot meal, it wil do. But if you’re wanting homemade southern dishes, this isn’t the spot. The food was hot and seasoned well. Cabbage greens were great too. However my chicken breast was dry. And the potatoes were box potatoes. The yams were not homemade either. Neither was the macaroni. I was very disappointed to not get homemade southern cooking. But canned vegetables are better to my body than old...
