I recently went to Windridge for their Raw Bar & Crushes on Thursdays. From what I saw online, it looked like it was going to be a really good event, so I called the restaurant to speak with the host to see how we could make reservations for the event. The host told us to make the reservation online and to add in the notes that we were there for the raw bar so that's what we did.. The host also went over the prices with me as well since I did not see anything posted online. The next day, we arrived at the restaurant, a different host informed us that she saw the note in our reservation about the raw bar however they do not take reservations for the event and that it is first come first serve. I explained to the host that I had spoken to someone the day prior who told me to make the reservation and put the note about the raw bar. The host said she doesn't know who I spoke with as she was off yesterday and pointed me to where the outside seating was for the raw bar. Again first come first serve. Since it was prime dinner time, there were no tables available. I asked to speak with a manager to see if there was any way they could make an exception to let us sit inside and still eat at the raw bar since their host from the day prior is the one who misinformed me but the manager was not helpful and didn't even apologize for the issue. She said that they were still working out the kinks of the raw bar since it was a new thing... After going back and forth with my family, we decided to wait for a table to open up so we could still eat there. The entire experience was less than ideal. There were no signs saying where to go to order the food. After waiting in front of the raw bar, a kind customer told us to order the food at the bar. After ordering our food, we waited at the raw bar to take the food to our table (which I think is bazar that we essentially served ourselves). During this time, we too had to tell the other customers where to order their food at. We also could not order soda at the bar, we would have had to go inside to order that, which is very inconvenient. My neice was with us and did not eat seafood so we ordered her a pizza from the QR code at the table. The table was labeled as table 7 however the waitress who brought the to go box of pizza took it to the wrong table. The pizza then made its way to our table after the table it was dropped off at realized it was not theirs. There was also no napkins or plates with it. As for the seafood, other than the oysters, I could have bought everything from Giant and made it at home for cheaper/gotten more food... The whole experience was very odd and not enjoyable. I come from a hospitality background in management, and I understand this is a new weekly event so there will be hiccups, but this put such a bad taste in my mouth. Especially with how the manager reacted. I will...
Read moreIt is with great remorse that I leave this review. My family has patronized the Wyndridge farm since the start, birthday parties, couples’ night out, and most of the events that they have hosted over the almost 10 years they have been open. This past weekend was the first time we stayed at the Inn. We were back in the area to visit some family and wanted a large place to stay. The video on the Wyndridge website shows a beautiful home that can be rented but it is far from that. It is a big house but the maintenance and upkeep is awful. It is like no one cares about this house. We noticed the bushes in the front were overgrown when we arrived, but did not bother us. The completely missing window in the garage is where I thought maybe something might be wrong.
First thing we noticed on the inside was that it was not decorated like the video, no big deal. My little kids took off their shoes and were running around the main floor. Within 15 mins their feet were black from the dirty floors. I stepped on something that was sharp and my wife noticed a pile of finger/toenails on the floor in the kitchen. It looked like the floor had not been swept or mopped. Just about every piece of furniture is stained from some sort of food or drink. Water damaged tables, broken furniture (pull out sofa in basement was in pieces). Dirty dishes in the dishwasher were there for a while and smelled awful. Going down to the basement you could see where drinks were spilled all over the walls and not cleaned. A dead bird on the back porch, dead bugs all over the house. Bugs were probably due to the 2 or 3 windows that had so much water damage and falling apart that they could not be closed all the way. The outside furniture had bird poop all over it and was nothing like the video. The rock wall going down to where the hot tub used to be is falling down. Old furniture stored under the patio covered in mold. I could go on and on.
This place is worn out and it seems like no one at Wyndridge cares about the upkeep of this house. I feel like it is a party place for weddings and that is it. For $750 a night I expect something a little nicer and cleaner. We did complain about the floors to Kaitlyn, and she had the cleaning company come in and clean. She was extremely responsive.
The Groff’s raised their kids in this house and if they walked in to see the condition it would probably break their hearts.
We did have brunch at the restaurant and it was excellent. The food, drinks, and staff are great.
Wyndridge takes pride in a lot of things they do but this Inn is one thing that has been left to fall apart like the reclaimed old barn wood used...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place. It is aesthetically beautiful, which is why I gave it 1 star. Unfortunately that is the only thing it has going for it. I attended the Mother's Day brunch with my family and when we made the reservation we specifically asked about the menu because several people in my family love to order breakfast items for brunch. We were told that they were still finalizing a special menu for Mother's Day brunch. When we were seated the menus were at each seat and it was a special brunch menu but sadly only lunch items....no breakfast. Our waitress never mentioned that we could order off of their regular brunch menu, only directed us to the special menu. After ordering we noticed that the other tables around us were getting breakfast foods and had ordered off the other menu. That was a bit annoying. It took over an hour to receive our food and our waitress didn't check back in one time during that wait. The food we received was very lackluster and certainly not a reflection of the menu price. The burgers were clearly the frozen Bubba burgers you get in the box at Sam's club....which is fine but why charge so much? The "full sized" chicken caeser salad was served on a side salad sized plate and again certainly not worth the menu price. The mixed vegetables served with the prime rib looked like they were dumped right out of a can. We all just expected more based off the menu prices. After our food was served the waitress never stopped by to see how everything came out or see if we needed anything. Several of us needed a drink refill but no one stopped by for us to ask. There were 2 food runners who obviously weren't trained properly and had no clue what table any of the food should go. They stopped at our table several times to ask if we ordered this or that. At one point the food runner was the only person we saw and asked him for drink refills but he never brought them. There was a mistake on our bill and the waitress seemed annoyed and rude when we asked for it to be fixed. She also told us we couldn't have a receipt. Our reservation was for 11:15 and we weren't walking out until 2:00! Needless to say we won't be going back. If you're looking for a restaurant with a beautiful atmosphere this is definitely it, however, if you're looking for a restaurant with good food and good service...
