We walked in around 630ish and it didnât look too busy, but we were quoted a 40min wait for some reason. The hostess and several waitresses were congregating around the hostess table with 2 managers(?) just chatting while several tables were open. It was peculiar and not typical of decent restaurants, but not the reason for the bad review.
After the 40min wait, we were sat. It took another 15min to get our order in. We got a kids meal Mac and cheese, and two lobster rolls.
At our request, they brought out the kids meal first. We appreciated that! A little disappointed that it was just Kraft Mac and cheese (meh), but nonetheless the kid was happy.
We waited an additional 45 mins for our lobster rolls.
At first they were brought out, the sides I ordered were missing â I get it, it happens sometimes. They fixed it after I brought it up, but I was shocked they didnât realize it in the first place since all the lobster rolls come with two sides and mine had none.
Both my wife and my lobster rolls had very little meat for nearly $40 per roll after the extensive wait - I understand lobster pricing is typically high, but even this was insulting.
All of this could have been forgiven, if I had not had multiple bits of shell and tail fin in my roll. When I asked the waitress if that was common, she said yes because theirâs were fresh. Iâve had enough âfreshâ lobster rolls to know that it shouldnât have this amount of shell and tail fin. And if it does, it (1) gets replaced, (2) gets a refund/discount or (3) gets an apology at least! However, the waitressesâ answer could be boiled down to âyeah that sucks, but it happens, oh well too badâ
Service was bad, food was worse. Mistakes happened, but staff didnât care. I donât blame the waitresses, I blame the management that trained them to think shells in food was ok for a customer. Would...
Read moreMy sister is gluten-free and has celiac. We asked for a gluten-free menu which the waitress gave us.. She said everything was gluten-free and she was able to order off that menu. She ordered clam chowder, a Caesar salad and french fries. We asked several times if the clam chowder and the french fries were gluten-free the waitress assured us it was. When the food was delivered, we asked that Again, is this gluten-free she said that the soup was but the french fries were not. The waitress again came over and we asked for the fourth time is this all gluten-free and she said yes it is And they assured her everyone with celiac is able to eat everything off of the gluten-free menu. Apparently the french fries were not gluten-free. They were fried In the same oil With gluten product. My sister had already eaten two french fries.FYI She became ill that night. I asked Our waitress to speak with the general manager four times!!!! Four times she said that she was too busy serving drinks and Running food. They gave my sister a free dessert for her troubles. That GM shouldâve been over there The first Mention of a problem!! I guest should not have to ask four times to speak with With her, and she STILL didnât come over! Poor management. Wait staff not knowledgeable on the food they serveâŚâŚ Someone can become deathly ill with a mistake like that. If youâre running a restaurant and you have a gluten free menu a guest should not have to question whether the items on that menu are Truly gluten-free! Again, I asked to speak with the GM four times and I was denied. Very angry. And my sister suffered that evening because of your lack of knowledge on what youâre serving in your restaurant. A free dessert does not compensate for a GM that is not available and gluten food items were served to a customer with celiac. That...
Read moreNot at all family friendly. Our family chose to eat here before embarking on our 2+ hour drive home. They obviously host children all the time due to the copious amount of boosters and high chairs. There was however, no children's menu or activities at all. We arrived at 4:30pm during the week-our wait for the food was at least 30 minutes. After asking our waitress for a children's menu we learned they do not have one and we could order off the 'lighter fair' menu. This would have been fine except our son has some allergies and cannot just have anything. Without asking what his allergies even were she dropped off a basket of bread right in front of the two year old and butter! He has a dairy and grain allergy! We were very disappointed in the experience. I would have been better off bringing him food and saving an extra $20 for a child's plate. Lastly, our waitress visited our table once and that was to see if we were ready for our bill. At which point I stepped out with our children as it had become apparent that they were really not welcome in this establishment. My mother even made mention to this experience when we reached the car. Our dinners were ok. Both my son and I ordered the burger without the bun and my husband had the captain's platter, which is mostly tiny tiny fried shrimp. The lobster was good nothing special. Very...
