Southern Grill 321 — Restaurant in York

I'll start by saying that the young girl with reddish hair that claimed to be the manager here is absolutely horrible. She's okay with giving customers spoiled food and then yelling at them in front of other customers when asked to make it right. My parents got two of the beef tips plates yesterday and the beef was very obviously spoiled. My mother had only ate one bite of hers and she was sick all night. My father brought the food back and asked if they could get something different made as the food was obviously spoiled. The girl rudely told him "no we don't do that here and we don't give refunds either" he didn't even ask for a refund just for some food that wasn't spoiled. The cook even came up front and said that the food was bad and offered to make them something different. At this point the girl starts yelling at my dad and the cook in front of everyone in the restaurant saying that he will not be remaking their food because they don't do that there. I was absolutely appalled by the way she was acting especially yelling at my elderly dad over something so miniscule when he was being polite and just wanted edible food. We ended up getting no food nor refund after being berated by the manager. My dad was in tears when we left because of the way she treated him. This is sad because this is my parents favorite place to eat. They come here at least once a week and always get the same thing and have never had this kind of problem. I hope yall get a better afternoon manager that actually cares about the customers and the quality of food that is...

My wife and I had been going to this cafe for two years now, used to go every week. We would always enjoy the 1 hour drive down from Charlotte to enjoy the incredible warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff are always great and always remember our names. The food used to be incredible and enjoyed the great prices. Unfortunately…

I don’t know what has changed or happened over the last few months but the past 3 times we have visited the food has been awful and absolutely careless. I took our mother in law for the 1st time and it was probably the worst experience we’ve had yet. My pork chops were extremely under cooked and one of the pork chops were served in two separate pieces which honestly looked like a chicken tender than a pork chop and had to send back. My mother in law ordered the country steak but unfortunately was not what she anticipated nor tasted good at all, sent the order back as well and ordered the fried chicken. Unfortunately the they served her a fried quarter leg unseparated and a small drum stick probably the size comparable to chicken wings. She was very disappointed with the meal and we ended up ordering her a hamburger from another restaurant.

As much as how kind and accommodating the staff were, apparently the cooks have lost their passion, the food has lost its touch, and that will mostly have been our last time to visit. Very unfortunate...

DISGUSTING!!!! waste of my $. The mac-n-cheese was swimming in oil/grease. Swimming in it! There wasn't just a little bit at the bottom of the bowl, half of the bowl was grease. Not an exaggeration. Turnip greens are bland, okra was so hard I couldn't even eat it, and the fish was so bland! The only thing edible where the hush puppies. Also, listed as a side item on the blackboard was mac-n-cheese and sweet potato casserole; however, you couldn't include them as a side item with your order! How does that even make sense? They should take them off of the board under "Sides". Food was meh. Paying was a cluster. People ordering to go and people paying for dine-in were the same line and you couldn't even move because people were just standing around. The staff was ok but we had to keep asking for refills and flagging someone down for anything.
