If you’re in the mood for heaping plates of finger licking delicious food, look no further. The pork belly burnt ends eggs benedict had me questioning everything I’d ever known of the traditional eggs Benedict. The sweet and savory chunks of pork belly are typically not something a person would have with their benedict, but the combination of honey glazed sweetness and creamy feel good hollindaise had my mouth watering. An unlikely pair perfectly orchestrated into a magnificent dish. Of course one cannot visit this cheeky little German restaurant without trying the Belgian waffles. The Monkey waffles were the true heroes in todays Sunday brunch. The delightful pairing of homemade fluffy waffles, thick and creamy (also homemade) whipped cream topping, bananas, caramel drizzle and granola was to die for. What made this dish so wonderful was its ability to feel like a delicious treat without the over-dramatic sweetness. It took all of my willpower to resist licking the plate clean. I have found a new favorite Coos Bay restaurant and will be back for more.

The Blue Heron has a new Wood-Fired/gas pizza oven. The Pizzalaio, Christian, is from Argentina and he has of Italian descent. He made me a calzone to die for. Literally, "m'ha fatto venire l'acqualino in bocca" (it made my mouth water). In fact, the other customers around me at the bar (and the bartender) had saliva on the side of their mouth looking at and smelling my calzone 😉

Great community restaurant. I recommend the Blue Heron Chicken with baked potato and veggies. The carnitas tacos were good, not super authentic but good. The starter bread and garlic butter was really good. We'll definitely be back.

After moving to YLP we have been so happy with our local delicious restaurant The Blue Heron. The food is always delicious and fresh! The drinks are wonderful, as is the waitstaff and bartenders. We have eaten there weekly until Covid and now we regularly get take out. Always great. I especially love the Prime Rib and mountain mashers and my fiance loves the chicken fried steak. The veggies are amazing too. Fresh, well seasoned and always cooked perfectly! We also love and miss Monday taco night. And the creme brulee is heavenly! We can hardly wait for the Friday night music by the lake to come back. So much fun! I've owned a restaurant on the past and am a chef. I know good quality food at...

My husband and I had reservations for 1800. We were excited to try Blue Heron and had heard Great things.. We were promptly seated and offered our drinks right away; great start. We decided to share a meal, something very simple: the "Blue heron chicken"...our meal took 1 hour and 20 minutes to be served to us. A party of 4 were seated approximately 25 minutes after us, yet served their meals well over 30 minutes prior to our "shared meal". The food was only sub-par. Our waitress avoided us at all costs during our wait, despite waiting on the tables flanking us. I wanted to enjoy an evening with my husband and would have never expected such a disappointing experience at...
