The New Anchor Inn — Restaurant in Young Township

Looking at google reviews, this place should have been amazing. It was anything but. The food was bland and microwaved, at best.

Got a glass of wine and it had soured. I ordered shrimp scampi and I'm pretty certain it was microwaved. It was bland and rubbery. My eldest ordered manicotti. She said that it was alright.

Youngest ordered a sirloin, the menu said that it was sirloin, but it turned out to be fillet. That was the only decent part of any of our meals. Her mashed potatoes were instant and the gravy was obviously canned. My wife ordered a t-bone. The meat was then and not cooked as she requested(rare).

The waitress was good and attentive, but busy. Since she was under 16, she couldn't be the person to bring us our alcoholic beverages; this was interesting.

Ultimately, this is a one star establishment. The only saving grace was the waitress being attentive and...

Oh where to start.... appetizers.. the shrimp must've just been defrosted with very little cocktail sauce. 2 salads were offered with the meal, but only one was delivered. Ok minor mistake, it's only salad. Ordered fillet and shrimp. Cooked medium rare but zero seasoning and tough. Other entrees were ok, not great just ok. When dining out, there should be music for ambiance not add if your at a concert, but that's ok the music went off and suddenly we were having dinner at a football game! And I didn't feel slighted in the least because as each table was served at least one item was incorrect. Being from out of town it was a disappointing representation, so hopefully tomorrow will fare better. The food here is nothing short of amazing! Truly, it was some of the best lasagna, and mac n cheese we've ever had! The wonderful waitress took great care of us despite the fact that we accidentally came in near closing. The web site said 9, but they were closed earlier. They still seated us and took good care of us. It's such an impeccably clean establishment. The atmosphere is a warm and inviting one. I highly reccomend this is you like Italian, and home made food. They make their food fresh in house. There plenty of room to accommodate parties of any size. Definitely worth a drive. I HIGHLY reccomend this place. We called around other places and the people were rude, this place took us in and fed us....
