Today is the 2nd time weâve been here. The first time was a Thursday and was kinda slow but the same kind of thing happened as far as waiting tables just as it today. Today, we were literally first in line to be sat when they opened. It did get very busy. We were asked 2nd of what ended up being 5 tables what we wanted to drink. We got our drinks and bread last of the 5 tables. Our food order was taken last of the 5 tables. 3 of which were a good 10 minutes after we sat down. The waitress went from table to table to take everyoneâs order all at once and put them in all at once instead of going in order of arrival. She said she would refill drinks âas soon as she couldâ which was about 20 minutes later after she tended to the other tables. We were served our food last. The excuse was âwaiting for the chiliâ. If we were waiting for the chili then it shouldâve been HOT. It was barely lukewarm. It was also served with EXPIRED Fritos and not just recently expired but JANUARY EXPIRED. Once the 3 tables that arrived after us was finished eating and left she got more attentive to serving us, probably thinking sheâd get a better tip. The tables that arrive first should always be served first not last. Servers should go in order of arrival NOT what would make it easier/lazier for them. There is no reason the first people to walk in are the last to be served. Saying all of this, she did get a tip because we donât go anywhere and not tip even the worst of servers. Today was enough to make anyone not...
Read moreOk there is a lot to unpack here. The food was pretty good, but the portion sizes were a little small for the prices. The prices were bordering on fine dining prices and this is not fine dining. The salads were over dressed and soggy by the time they came out.
The seafood heaven was tasty, but it was very soupy and could have had a lot more of pasta in the bowl, it would have also been better with a little lemon served with it or cooked into it to cut the richness. I would served the dish with a rotini or shell pasta not angel hair. It also came out of the kitchen lukewarm, while the other dish was rocket hot. This dish was also $26 which is a lot for the size.
The eggplant Michelle was also tasty and a decent price, $16, but itâs just eggplant stuffing. It wasnât served with any toast points or in a crab shell. If this was stuffed inside large pasta shells and topped with Parmesan cheese it would have been outstanding.
The key lime pie was good, would definitely get again, small portion though.
The one biggest complaint I have is that they charge a 4% fee for any card transactions here and at the gift shop. This is shady, no credit card companies charge 4% and it is illegal to charge a fee for debit card transactions. This is the second place in Lafayette that day that did this and it makes me not want to visit again. Raise your prices (and they were already pretty high) to cover the overage, 90% of people are using cards these...
Read moreI LOVE this place! We try to goas often as we can.
Typically, the service is great but when we went, there was a small communication issue with the hostess stand and they waitress for outside. After waiting a while, I went inside just to be told I had to get reseated out side by the hostess stand. I told them the hostess told me to sit anywhere outside since there was all but one table open to sit at .
Any way the waitress I put the order with inside wĂĄs extremely friendly and she kept our outside table even though I guess her section really was inside.
We love lots of things on the menu but I tend to get the half chef salad and sweet tea. The portion is MASSIVE and I always end up with leftovers with is a bonus!
They bring out hot, fluffy, wonderful bread while you wait.
I recommend to go on a nice, sunny day so you can sit outside. It is so peaceful, you are under the big trees that give you shade, even in the hot summer months and you get the outdoor experience. Inside is great too if you want to be indoors but it can get loud if they are busy with all of the conversations happening...
