We were passing through this area on the way home. We were hungry but didn't want burgers or chicken. I saw the sign with what looked like a Craw fishing it, and thought Louisiana, probably a good place to eat seafood. Boy was I right! Walked in to a very large dining room met by friendly staff and seated immediately. Ordered appetizers, stuffed jalapeno and "Hazel" onion rings in honor or my grandmother. Onion rings were hands down the best I've ever had. The batter was light and crunchy, well seasoned cut to a perfect size, the onion delicious. Stuffed jalapenos looked more like a large tater tot. It was such a sensory delight, taste, textures, seasoning with a perfect blend of jalapeno. Wow, best ever. I had the cat fish dinner which as a true fan of fried catfish lover, was in heaven. Lightly dusted with a layer of cornmeal then deep fried to to a perfect golden brown without compromising the flake white meat beneath. It was perfect for me. Service was quick courteous and friendly.
Great stop! If I'm ever back this way,...
Read moreVisited the Boiling point on 6/22/19 with family members for dinner. The place was rather packed and our Party of 5 was seated in the back by the exit door. After 20 minutes of waiting an over worked waitress came to take our orders. She was working another waitress Debbie section. Who was too busy eating and goofing off or refuse to wait on us, to work our table. The service was slow as a snail, the food was tasteless and the attitutde of the manager/ owner was rude and obnoxious, after we complained. We were in his establishment 2 hrs & his response was, you got your food didn't you. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone, traveling thru New Iberia,La. The locals were even frustrated on the wait time to receive their food & checks. Maybe because we were black? Maybe he just did not give a damn. I told him I was going to give him a baf review. WORST...
Read moreI came here on the recommendation of a full blooded Cajun friend. The restaurant is very tidy, inside and out. It looks great. The menu looks great.
The service was mediocre, and the food was terrible. I have friends who trace their Cajun heritage back to the 1700s. They cook sublime, genuine Cajun food. I was expecting that here.
What I got was hideously overcooked, oversalted overseasoned alligator that I wouldn't feed my cat. And if I did,I know he'd walk away.
Being English by birth and culture, I didn't want to make a fuss, but I was sorely tempted to send the trash I was plated up back to the sad failure of a cook hiding back of house.
But I didn't. I choked it down and left a polite tip.
But I will never, ever spend money here again.
Don't stop here. Drive last and spend your money at Waffle House. It'll be cheaper And the food...
