Carnitas El Taste Foothills — Restaurant in Yuma

We love this place! Our family usually orders to go, but I took the kids for lunch and we ate inside. It was such a nice experience, we will definitely make this a more often outing. The waitress was super nice and very attentive. The salsa that came out with the chips was amazing, and I’m picky on my salsa! I love spicy and this one had great flavor and some bite as well.

The torta meal was a great deal and my kids and I loved every bite. My picky eater ate her whole tostada as well! Everything was great!

They have a family meal deal that you can order and it comes with everything to make carnitas tacos at home, (This is what we usually get) and it’s a great deal for when you just don’t feel like cooking but don’t want junk fast food.

Also highly recommend is the huarache. SO GOOD. It’s like a giant corn tortilla with meat, beans, sour cream and guacamole. I’d definitely recommend that for a big eater or someone who wants two meals.

Oh, and the aguas are great too! We’ve had all of them, the horchata, jamaica, and the limonada. My personal favorite is the limonada because it’s so sweet and tart.

We will be back, it’s a great place off 32nd street and near 6E, so it’s convenient for us.

This was another taco shop that was recommended to me by a coworker. If I were to guess the type of food that was served based upon the outside of the restaurant, then I would’ve guessed that it was a BBQ restaurant. The BBQ vibe changed as soon as I walked through the doors. The inside is much more colorful and decorated as you might expect a modern taco shop would be. I went to Carnitas El Taste on a Saturday for an early takeout lunch. They were just finishing up making the fresh tortillas for the day while I was ordering. I talked to the person making the tortillas and he said that they will make 900 tortillas per day in the slow season. I let the cashier/hostess know that it was my first time and I asked for taco recommendations. After getting a rundown of the menu, I ended up order 2 regular tacos, Al Pastor & Carnitas, and a “Secret Menu” Chile Rellenos taco. This local spot serves tasty Mexican food. I ordered the macho burrito with chicken. The meat was great with both light and dark meats which I loved the meat gets 5 ⭐. Though a bit heavy on the lettuce and lacked sauce. The red sauce that comes with the chips is great but the chips which are made in house were not consistent some were hard or chewy. Service was okay we sat ourselves but had to wait to get a menu. Atmos was fine, really just a no frills environment. And my shoes felt sticky to the floor.

Really when it comes to Mexican dining the sauce is very important, and chips need to be okay. Generally meats are always great and the sauce makes the difference.
