Sophie Homy Cafe & Food — Restaurant in Đồng Hới

This review is long in the waiting, we arrived in Dong Hoi with our motorbikes wanting to send them to Hanoi. Nobody was at the counter to help us until a beautiful woman called Hay came to our rescue. Her english was fantastic, she found the woman (for train) for us so we could book our tickets, she stayed with us the whole time and made sure all the papers were filled in correct and the bikes were ready to send. After she also found a coach online for us as we couldn’t get internet and she organized our seats and payment on the phone. We quickly had to get changed and food so we got to her cafe where she let us use her bathroom and they made us amazing food to take to the coach. We were in a bit rush so everyone made sure we are ready to go. Hay and her partner gave us a lift to the coach and she stayed with us until we were on the coach. We had the pleasure of visiting this little and charming cafe hosted by the incredibly sweet owner, Ha. From the moment we stepped in, we felt welcomed by her warm hospitality. Ha's excellent command of English made communication a breeze, and she was incredibly accommodating when it came to catering to my wife's vegetarian preferences.

The menu offered a wide array of delicious vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, making it a true haven for those seeking meatless meals. Every dish and drink we tried was a delightful culinary experience.

One of the most heartwarming aspects of our visit was meeting Ha's adorable daughter, Sophie, who added a special touch to the atmosphere. It's clear that this cafe is not just a business, but a labor of love for Ha and her family.

Sophie passed by us at the train station and asked us, to come with her for breakfast. We went to her place even though we had little time but she said she would be fast. And yes, she was extremely fast. In no time she had 3 smoothies, 3 iced coffee, 3 scrambled eggs sandwiches and aditionally 3 fried vegetables with tofu for take away!! And the food was delicious! We really enjoyed eating there. The service was great and very attentive and fast, as she knew we were in a hurry! No idea how she was able to prepare such a fresh food in so short time alone.

We can absolutely recommend having some drinks and food at her place. Specially when you are waiting for you train. :) Prices are also very reasonable. We payed for all that food (breakfast and lunch and 2 drinks for each of us 3) only around 430k! Great price for the amount and quality we got.
