Platinum Sky Team member for years (still valid til April 2025) booked Vietnam Airlines as it's sky team and wanted to use the lounge instead of a cheaper flight. Was just refused entry because my international flight isnt within 25hrs.

Lounge was less than 1/3rd occupied. I understand if the rules should be applied when busy but this is just ridiculous! Why bother flying with Vietnam Airlines as a skyteam member when I couldn't reserve a seat on booking and now can't even get into th3 lounge!!! 7 flights a year long haul international through Hanoi. Have used the lounge every time for the domestic connection. I have just told the procurement team that No One in the Hanoi office is permitted to fly with Vietnam Air again on company business.

Edit: I flew in on VN and it was for a domestic...

It's nice to have a lounge. This lounge does a good job with the basics.

Pros: lots of food and beverages including a made to order noodle bar, lots of space to sit and spread out. Wifi was fast. Showers available.

Cons: it's seen better days - it's a pretty drab space. Some of the food wasn't refrigerated, so I was apprehensive in eating it (for example the cheese and some of the meats). No convenient power plus. Bathroom was clean but very utilitarian (I imagine shower is similar as it's behind a door in the toilet area).

I peaked into the priority pass lounge next door, and it looked much more aesthetically pleasing but was also much...

The lounge is totally packed We paid for business class to have a bit of luxury - there is no luxury Beer is warm We have to share a table Food was okay but most plates were empty The plates are left on the table for over an hour You can buy access to the lounge for less than £30!!! So If Vietnam airlines are going to sell access to the lounge then makes paying for business class a waste of time Very disappointed And would seriously suggest considering another carrier for...

I’m a frequent flyer with many loyalty cards. I live in Vietnam so decided to sign up with Vietnam airlines program. Went to the lounge to ask for a form. Don’t bother. They won’t help. They will ignore. They will talk down to you. They will be unprofessional. I’d suggest doing in line or after my recent interaction, choose a different airline.
