Our stay in "sweet potato homestay was nice and convinient. We were happy with our room (cold aircon, fresh and clean sheets)... In summary things were good organized. One word about the food: it's really good, but def. not the best I have come over in Vietnam (quite pricey for Vietnam as well). The hostel offers several opportunitys to make a backpackers live easier (associated costs for sure) and that's great :) I would recommend to stay in this homstay.... (and now the reason why it led to a 3 star review) but do yourself a favor and don't rent motorbikes here!! They are too expensive (120k, and I tried the hardest to bargain) and the bikes will just let you down, technically not trustable, under motorised and just need too much fuel... you will just have problems. Then again you probably can't rent some other motorbikes at some other place :/... That hole thing and the "non existed service around the bikes" lead to...
Read moreWe really enjoyed our three night stay here. The staff was very friendly and the room was cheap, big and clean, AC worked well and the included breakfast (choice between eggs, pancakes or noodle soup with tea or coffee) is tasty. It's nice that it's a bit away from the city. The only downside is the main street in front of the homestay where honking trucks pass once in a while. And their restaurant (which is more or less the only option in the area) is slightly overpriced. But the cheap vegan restaurant Buddha belly can easily be reached by the free bicycles the homestay provides. They also provide good tour advice (the day boat trip with cat ba vision was definitely worth the slightly higher price), bus booking and scooter rental (cheaper if only rented for half a day or the evening). And the best thing: they offer cheap water refills to reduce single use...
