Bac Ha Boutique — Restaurant in Lào Cai Province

We’ve been to Bac Ha before and this was just a stop through visit so picked our accommodation based on reviews. Personally we didn’t find enough value to say this was 5 star, the room was comfortable and family were pleasant but for 500k VND we’ve had better value.

The Homestay is located right near the centre of town overlooking the river which was sparse with water. We chose one of the self contained rooms which had a private bathroom. It had a fan, comfy mattress and complimentary tea and water. No air con, fridge or coffee but we found the room cool enough and purchased drinks at the Homestay or in town.

A pleasant breakfast included either the room. You can choose from about 4 or 5 items (Pho, Omlete, fried eggs, Noodles), accompanied by tea or coffee (we chose drip coffee) and fresh fruit.

The bathroom door locks poorly, water goes everywhere including into the bedroom despite the door being closed, kettle doesn’t reach any of the outlets, there was very little privacy without the curtain shut as the front is all glass including the entry door, and the soundproofing isn’t the greatest as we could hear the couple next...

We absolutely loved our stay here. We would highly recommend it!!!! After a long 3 days trekking, the lovely family at this beautiful hotel even helped us wash and dry our muddy clothes. The food is fantastic. Dinner with the family was very special, with plenty of rice wine included. Breakfast was also delicious, on the balcony with beautiful mountain views and the river. ||Our room also has the amazing views and is spotlessly clean, as are the washrooms. Smoothies are also a must try too. ||The family are so so helpful and sweet, and even let us stay in our room until 4pm the next day as it wasn’t booked up for the next evening. ||10/10 for everything, and don’t get me started on the town itself.
