Thao Linh Restaurant, Ninh Binh — Restaurant in Ninh Bình Province

We went there in the morning before it was operating. We asked for a take away lunch box with no specific order. I suggested fried rice or fried noodles with a side of chicken and vegge.

The lady said she has no cooked rice yet. When she came back from the kitchen she confirmed to have rice ready.

Well that turned out into both of us having the longest food poison ever. The rice kept fermenting in our bellies...

We stumbled on this local restaurant driving by on a motorbike. Super friendly host, made us the specials of the restaurant. Speaks English pretty well. We had a lovely time eating local Vietnamese food made by la mama of the house. We do think however the charged us tourist prices instead of local prices. But he, we still only payed 490.000...

The food was decent. The meal in the photo cost 230k (no bill provided as the owner calculated it manually). Service was okay, though the wait time was quite long. Unfortunately, I came at the same time as a large pre-booked group, so I had to wait 30 minutes to get my food — a rather poor experience.
