My recent visit to NAYUU (奈悠) at the Four Seasons Nam Hoi An was an exceptional culinary journey that left a lasting impression. From the moment I arrived, the warm hospitality of the staff made me feel welcomed and valued. The intimate setting, including the コ-shaped counter, provided an immersive dining experience that allowed me to fully appreciate each dish as it was expertly prepared before my eyes. The staging area, adorned with a magnificent wooden table crafted from indigenous Vietnamese or Cambodian wood, added to the natural beauty of the surroundings. Every staff member addressed me by name, further enhancing the personalized service. Chef Alex Moranda and his team delivered an outstanding omakase-style menu, featuring high-quality ingredients from Japan and Korea, expertly paired with rare and unique sake selections. The standout dish for me was the Kagoshima A5 Wagyu topped with foie gras, showcasing Chef Moranda's culinary expertise and creativity. While the dessert courses provided a delightful conclusion to the meal, the Bloody Gimlet welcome, though creative, felt somewhat out of place. However, this minor detail did not detract from the overall exceptional dining experience at NAYUU. I look forward to returning to explore more of the menu and indulge in the unparalleled hospitality that sets this restaurant apart. Overall, NAYUU is the zenith of ingredient forward dining in Vietnam and has no peer....

Nayuu is, without a doubt, one of the most exceptional dining experiences I’ve ever had — and we’ve already been several times. It’s surprising that this place isn’t more well-known, because it truly deserves recognition. The fish is unbelievably fresh and prepared with incredible precision, but the meat dishes are just as outstanding — top quality and perfectly cooked.
Every part of the dining journey is thoughtfully curated. You start with an aperitif in the peaceful bar area, move to the elegant kitchen counter for dinner, and return to the bar for dessert — it flows effortlessly and adds something special to the evening. The minimalist Japanese design enhances the whole experience, creating a sense of calm focus on the food and atmosphere.
The sake pairing is highly recommended, and even for those who don’t drink alcohol, the mocktails are beautifully crafted. Personally, I prefer to stick with water — just to not distract from the sheer excellence of the food!
What truly sets Nayuu apart is the warmth and attentiveness of the team. The service is intuitive, refined, and full of genuine care. You’re welcomed like a friend and treated to something unforgettable.
