This place was amazing. A very very rare combination of great food, amazing ambiance and view and incredible prices.
I guess for Vietnam it’s considered quite expensive. But for tourists it’s an incredible value. Especially as they sell and serve live seafood.
The location is along a rocky coast right on the water. The view and cool sea breeze made it an incredible location and ambiance.
We had our guide with us and he helped us choosing. The cooked vegetables with special sauce looked nothing special and rather simple but was incredibly tasty and unique. We ordered the gan Hao style hotpot. Savory and sweet with seafood and passion fruit. It was my parents favorite dish. My own favorite was the wet dried squid. So simple but the fresh taste and unique texture was amazing. We also ordered fresh seafood. The river prawns were not as big as in Thailand. And we ordered them in salt egg. Better to simply grilled them next time. We ordered crab, but was not super amazing. The hero of the seafood we ordered was the clam. In tamarind sauce…it was so fresh and clean taste. It truly enhance the taste of the clams like nothing I tried before. All the dishes were amazing and not like something I have tried elsewhere before.
But the best thing..the final price. Less than 100€ for 5 adults. In bali, Bangkok or Jakarta and certainly Singapore you would be 2x and up to 4x the price. Don’t be afraid to choose all the seafood you want..quality and taste of food is great and the price is amazing. Once in a life time combination and to me…worth another visit.
Don’t forget to order the special fresh coconut. The small coconuts is so incredibly sweet without added sugar. Keep...

This is a difficult review. Ganh Hao is well known to be possibly the best seafood restaurant in Vung Tau. But as a westerner whom does not speak Vietnamese this restaurant does not cater for us and to be honest it did feel a little like we were not welcome ( i will explain). The waiters did not speak english in fact it seemed like only a couple of people there spoke any English at all. This lead to incorrect orders the menus are not all the same , so my wifes menu was different to mine. With different ingredients even to the same dishes. To the management please employ or train existing staff to speak english. You have a growing Holliday population and you are the best know restaurant in Vung Tau. Also redo the menus. Consider how hard they are to navigate for non Vietnamese customers. Or have special menus for westerners. The location is amazing, food delicious but that tonight was dimished by being delivered food prepared the exact way we requested it not to be cooked. One final thing as alot of your dishes are market value provide the daily...
