If you are heading to Mỹ Tho and the Mekong River, chances are you will find yourself here the Mekong Rest Stop, a massive open-air oasis built to feed the endless stream of travelers passing through. But this isn’t just some roadside pit stop, this place hums with energy, movement, and the quiet efficiency of an open kitchen feeding the hungry masses.
There are countless seats, scattered across a lush garden setting, where you can linger after your meal and watch the kitchen crew work at breakneck speed. The food? Surprisingly good for a rest stop. We had hủ tiếu Mỹ Tho, and it was legit—the kind of bowl that reminds you why this region is famous for its noodles. Would give 0/5...

It is also vastly overpriced, but if I ran the place and (presumably) had deals with guiding companies to bring me wealthy victims, sorry, customers, I'd ramp up my prices too!
It does provide (clean) toilets but the limited cafe facilities are not able to cope with the vast numbers of conveyor-belt tourists. And, yes, I do recognise that I am part of the problem!
I'd give this place a miss if you're able, but your guide will probably take you here if...
