Okay. I must say I'm confused about the superb ratings, because our experience was mediocre and it seems it can't make up its mind whether it's a cafe, bistro or a sports lounge.
Ambiance 2/5
To begin the name Cozy did not live up to its name. Instead of giving off warm and snug vibes, it was super bright with the entire dining hall lit up with bright white lights, and with no partitions between the tables. everyone could see everyone eating. Privacy was non existent. And why oh why should there be flat screens showing football at 9pm? We were there for dinner, not sports! The other downer? Shisha, even though it was outside.
Service 4/5
The waiter/waitress were friendly and helpful. No complaints there. However, I feel the cafΓ© is trying too hard to keep up with unnecessary trends... Plastic gloves for eating chicken wings? Come on! QR code for menu? Give us printed menus please!
Food 2.5/5
This was the biggest disappointment. The starters of 3 different wings were meh. The hummus and pita were on point though. Then the steaks? Highly priced but not worth even half of what we paid. Bland, lack of flavour and almost paper thin cuts. Steaks should be 2 inch think, not 2mm!
Then finally the Americano coffee. Granted they use an imported brand most of their regulars drink, but it was and always will be horrible for me. The worst part is we got charged K15 for milk which should be complimentary with the coffee. Why?
Disappointed but will come here again to try the dessert and Lebanese food, which I would like to believe will be good. Otherwise, I will not recommend this place. More so that the average amount per person was...
Β Β Β Read more3 in our party for breakfast 1/5/25. Holiday! Ready for business? Ordered English Breakfast - Simple; 2 eggs over medium, hash browns, brown toast, side of grilled onion, bowl of beans, and 2 iced Cappuccinos, 1 hot Cappuccino. After some time passed I called our waitress over to ask about our iced Cappuccinos? We were told she couldn't because the blender stopped working. Why was nothing said before this? I suggested we would have hot instead. She brought our hot cappuccinos, and then the Breakfasts. All 3 the same, brown bread toast buttered, hash browns cooked to a crisp, you couldn't even chew them, eggs were cold, I sent mine back, after 2 mins in the microwave, returned to me (couldn't even cut the whites), the onion was sliced and grilled, not quite what I was expecting! Our waitress was embarrassed and unsure of her self. I told her I would be writing a very flattering review. I left her a small tip for her embarrassment. I don't think she had anyone she could call for help? And it still cost me 820kw and I left all of mine behind, my wife and son ate theirs even though it was the same as mine. They're better troopers than I am. I believe the owner should have the opportunity to know why he's losing business. The other 2 felt I should leave and never return! What do...
Β Β Β Read moreA lovely restaurant in Makeni area. Close to a few other shops, the food is very well made and you can taste the Arabian spice, always fresh and great service.
The only downside is they allow smoking inside, especially Shisha, it was uncomfortable for me.
The inside seating is good, and very open with a few lounge style seats which can be relaxing.
The atmosphere though is rather strange, the entire area is filled with televisions and the lights are always on really bright.
So itβs not so βCozyβ. If the lighting can be dimmed it would make for a much more relaxed atmosphere matching the establishments name.
Otherwise, the humous with beef is highly...
