New favourite restaurant unlocked! I didn't know that Christian themed restaurants were a thing — as in the meals had names like 'The faithful' and 'The uplifting, and there were verses plastered around the premises. How cool. Also my first time seeing a restaurant with a vision statement; we love purpose driven establishments.
Anyways, I ordered the uplifting - with bacon. And when I tell you I felt uplifted the whole day? I had a busy day so after that brekkie I only had my second meal around 10pm. I didn't feel hungry at all because the meal was so satiating. I think I also have a new favourite ingredient after pickled onions; hollandaise sauce. So so tasty. I'd get into all the components of the dish but l'd be repeating myself because everything just came together perfectly. Would definitely order again.
Their service was prompt, probably because they've found a way to ensure that they address customers quickly. So each table has a buzzer which when clicked, alerts the waiters that we need their service.
That's a pretty neat innovation. Though, it is a bit of an ugly thing to have on the table. I'm hoping that the people who come up with these ideas will create tables that come with the buzzers built into them like by the corner or under the table or something.
The only thing I didn't appreciate was the fact that I asked to have my drink with the food, but the waiter brought it way earlier:/ And the waiter also made me question my order & like twice. He asked if I was sure that's what I wanted, and asked if I didn't want to order The Noble dish instead. I'm assuming it's because I asked for the egg to be fried instead of poached. So maybe he was worried that frying the egg would ruin the dish? Idk, just...
Read moreThe restaurant offers a great dining experience with good food and a pleasant atmosphere. However, there are several areas where improvement is needed, particularly in the service department.
Firstly, while I understand the decision not to provide ashtrays at outdoor tables, it would be beneficial to reconsider this policy given the outdoor seating availability.
Secondly, it is important for waitstaff to be knowledgeable about the day's specials and prices. During my visit, the waiter was unable to provide this information, which was disappointing.
Thirdly, guests should be provided with an adequate supply of napkins without having to request them personally. I had to fetch my own napkins during my meal.
Fourthly, it would greatly enhance the customer experience if staff checked on guest satisfaction after meals are served. This ensures any issues with the food can be promptly addressed.
Lastly, it's crucial to inform guests ahead of closing time to accommodate any last-minute orders. On my visit, we wished to order coffees after our meal, only to find out the barista had already closed, which was a missed opportunity for additional revenue.
Overall, with attention to these service details, this restaurant has the potential to be one of the best dining spots in Harare. I hope these suggestions are taken into consideration for future...
Read moreThe food is excellent. I had the veggie burger - patty was "meaty" and flavourful. You can choose from 3 toppings and I opted for the cheese, caramelised onions and prawns. Surprisingly delicious combo with juicy prawns. If you come for breakfast, try their red cappuccino; it's delicious. Over my 2 week stay, I visited 3 times and was not disappointed each time.
Now onto the cons. Service is a little inconsistent. Some waiters are highly attentive and friendly. Others are hard to find and don't check in very often. I received a teaspoon with a sticky residue on it and when I brought it to the waiter's attention, he thought it appropriate to wipe the spoon on a used dish cloth and hand it back to me... The venue is beautiful on a warm, sunny day but the exposed structure means that when it rains or temperatures are low, you are very much exposed to...
