We did something out of our normal excursions: Went to the incredible aquarium that just opened 2 years ago… had an absolutely amazing experience. The design starts at the edge of the ocean and each room you go deeper into what it looks like and the creatures that reside at each level. Really appreciated having a tour guide who explained every exhibit and we even got to go behind the scenes to see how they keep all of the conditions to meet the needs of whatever fish/animal they have there.. they do a lot of Rescue work rehabilitating, fish, sea lions, and turtles… all the sea lions were rescued as babies, and now do the little sea lion show ! 🦭 🪼 🐟 🐠

If you are in Mazatlan you have to come visit the aquarium! This place is beautiful and an unforgettable experience. There is a large variation of fish and you can spend hours looking at all the fish, there are also jellyfish and interactive experiences. It's great for the family and kids. The outdoor area is great too, there are animal exhibits with birds, reptiles and mammals. You can take pictures and enjoy shows throughout the day. Make sure to listen for the time of the shows and make sure to get to the seal show early as it is the most popular one and it gets packed.

Acuario Mar de Cortez in Mazatlan is complete. It's one of the largest aquariums in Latin America. The architecture is very modern and has beautiful gardens and wall fountains. It has 700 fish species, an aviary, crocodiles, and some mammals that we didn’t see because they are finishing their habitat. The fish tanks are huge and well kept. They have an educational and interactive area for kids and adults. The price is accessible and if you are in Mazatlan, it is worth visiting this important place. After all, it is the biggest aquarium in Latino America.

Nice experience since the very beginning. I recommend to book your ticket in advance to avoid queueing. It gets pretty crowded in the weekends, so visit on morning week days instead if possible. There are multiple shows with sea lions, and trained birds. It's perfect for a nice family time, especially for the little ones. They even have an extra-charge type of show with penguins. It's rather a talk for learning more about them, but you get to touch and interact with a few of them in real life, it's about 15 USD extra though.

Awesome. Our kids had a blast (9 and 10 years old) and we did too. The water is not very chlorinated (if at all) however and both my husband and I developed mild ear aches for a few days from being flipped into the Water after some of the slides. Food was average but hot and quick. We went during the week in their first week of opening for the season so it was very quiet. Was also very clean. Cost was 170 peso per person for all day admission. Don't let the bad reviews scare you.
