I was here in 2013 before the town had luxury hotels and restaurants and all I can say is that it has only gotten worse. You should only hope not to come here by choice. The roads are still not paved, but on top of that, there are so many hotels and bars/restaurants stuffed between one another that you have almost nowhere to walk. I lost a wheel of my baggage walking from the bus station to my hotel. The restaurants are priced extremely high for no reason, and in the 10 days I was here, I found hair and a metal wire in my food on two separate occasions. I also got food poisoning and could not even stand up straight or walk for 6 days. The place to rinse yourself at the beach is intentionally turned off by a person until 4 pm, even when there was a massive heat wave. Also just want to let anyone who is coming to Shengjin know that the water is unimaginably murky, and there are chip bags, band aids, toys, etc. in the water. Lots of seaweed too, in huge amounts at once. :( Velipoje is better, but to be honest, you get a much better value in Antalya or...

the beach itself is okay, the water sometimes contains so much seaweed depending on where on the beach you are which is so so unpleasant to be in! It honestly depends because sometimes the water is crystal clear and perfect but other times it’s filled with rubbish. There is SO many people!! It’s honestly so hard to find an umbrella and you have to pay 10 to 12 mije lek for 2 loungers and an umbrella (for a day). These are usually full so make sure to wake up early to get one! There is an area where you can place your own umbrella if you want to though. Lots of bars and restaurants around. Beware of people that walk around asking for money, usually with a disabled person with them as it could just be for money, who knows how they use donations? Overall it’s decent and the beach is very...

Fazit: Nie wieder Albanien!

staying at the southern quieter part of Shengjin. Still the beach here is crowded, sunbeds (500 lek for 2 beds and umbrella) packed too close to another. No garbage apart from cigarette butts. Beach is shallow, water is usually calm or with some moderate waves. Water is foggy with very limited visibility. Shengjin is not much fun. Newly built. Promenade and fun fair.. not much else. Lots of mosquitos. Sewer stench is terrible (usually in evening-night hours), guess the infrastructure can't hold the many (and many more still u/c) apt buildings. People are friendly and hospitable, esp. toward foreigners, but not many of them speak english good.

It’s a nice small town it has the mountain thenits the town then the beach It is a town which is growing each year the buildings are bout build right in the sea shore (unlike some Other towns) Perfect a little get away there’s bars restaurants And of corse the beach the cost is not too expensive again compare to other beaches in Albania it is affordable Not sure about the hotel prices haven’t checked them yet this place is bout 1hr 20 min max from Tirana very easy to get to. Not trying to sugar coat anything here yes there is a bit of mess but the town is up and growing.
