If you are coming to this place for the spa and thermen, then you are in for a real treat. Located within the Andes mountains it is hard to imagine a more spectacular surrounding. The pools are plentiful and each pool has a different temperature so you can find something to your liking. However if you plan to stay in the hotel prepare for a more mediocre experience. The rooms are small, no tv and not very clean. Upon arriving i still found dust on the floor. Also the diner in the restaurant is really bad. You will be asked a few hours beforehand what you want to eat and they will prepare it for you and then keep it warm. So this means dry, tasteless food in the evening. Strangely enough the lunch is a lot better consisting of a large buffet with fresh food from the barbeque. They offer a lot of services for the hotel guests, like a daily included massage, bicycle tours and morning yoga classes. The staff is also friendly and especially the outside terrain and pools are well maintained. Overall it is a mixed experience. I would still recommend it because the thermen and pools really...
Read moreNot sure I'd go back. My boyfriend and I took the Andesmar bus to Cacheuta & it dropped us off right outside the spa (trip was around 50 mins from the terminal in Mendoza) and soon we saw that it's a mass tourist kind of setup. Pools were really busy, screaming kids (not how I saw it in my head!!) We chose the add on to go to Potrerillos when we bought our ticket (online). Supposedly a bus goes each hour. The first one left 10 mins early so we missed it, then the next 3 buses were cancelled. We then had to hang around wasting an hour of our day for a tour that went out at 4pm. So no hopping on and off was possibly. Was really disappointing. Even staff didn't know what was going on and didn't seem to care. Would recommend doing this trip yourselves, ideally in a car. Exploring the Potrerillos lake is amazing & the mountains closeby. If you have spare cash, opt for the spa afternoon in Cacheuta thermal spa.... Its in a separate location and way...
Read moreVisited Parque de Agua in November. Booked via the official website. Entry for 2 people including a transfer from the centre of Mendoza. Here is my honest opinion.
Transfer: Very easy, took a little over an hour to arrive at the park. Guides spoke Spanish, English and Portuguese.
Location: The park is in a beautiful setting at the foot of the mountains.
Venue: It was very busy; a lot of people in every pool. Lots of children. Not dirty but certainly not clean. We didn’t eat there because it was too busy. Lockers and robes are available but TAKE CASH. We managed to pay on card but we had to negotiate with one of the staff there to be able to pay for a locker on card. No sun loungers so don’t expect to be able to chill by the pool.
Experience : It was ok. Go for 2 or 3 hours max. We left around lunchtime. It wasn’t the relaxing experience we hoped for. Worth a visit as it is a relatively cheap day but it was too busy for us....
