Wow, whst an absolute treat this adventure was. We rented a camper van in Córdoba and travelled all through this area. Stunning views around every corner. You really feel like you should be out on a horse, herding llamas while keeping an eye out for armadillos, iguanas and wild foxes, all of which we saw here. The colours and hues change through the the days and sunsets and sunrises are truly spectacular sights. Lots of stops along the way to check out canyons, vistas, caves, natural amphitheatres, etc. Roads are quite good although you do have to get used to windy mountain driving. Much more influence of indigenous people in this area....

One of the most stunning drives I’ve ever done. The colors and rock formations are surreal—like stepping into a painting. Every few minutes, you feel like stopping the car just to stare. We took our time, pulled over at El Anfiteatro and La Garganta del Diablo (both a must), but honestly, the whole road is an open-air museum. Go around sunset if you can—the light on the red rocks is unforgettable. No entrance fee, just nature at its best.

And I thought southwest USA was unique! Northwest Argentina in general, and this Quebrada in particular, are just as spectacular, colorful and breathtaking. I so wish I had devoted more time to explore it. Do yourself a favor and spend time here. If you're pressed for time, you can skip the Garganta del Diablo and El anfiteatro, way too touristy, and go backcountry. I recommend spending at least 3 days here.
