Devil’s Bridge — Attraction in Syunik Province

Devil’s Bridge (Satani Kamurj) is one of Armenia’s most fascinating natural wonders, where geology, history, and legend collide. Where to start…the place you would like to see is simply stunning and worth to go! Just as many people already mentioned, there are “guides” who charge you to go with you and discover the place. They ask for 5000AMD per person but never accept that! Without guiding they will charge you 3000AMD anyway because you have use the ropes by which they stay and it would be highly uncomfortable to tell them that you will not pay at all… we ended up paying 3500AMD per person and the “guides” showed us everything. Is it possible to do without the guide? Most likely but as a foreigner it can be quite uncomfortable to communicate it with them. But at the end you have to agree that with or without guide it’s totally worth it and its total beauty the entire canyon! It’s just all about the principles and rules you are...

Unbedingt in die Höhle hinabsteigen. Vom Parkplatz dem Geländer folgen. Es geht an zwei kleinen Becken mit lauwarmem Wasser vorbei. Im Anschluss kommt ein Stahlseil zum Runterklettern. Wer es nicht sieht, muss noch weiter durchgehen. Keine Angst vorm Abstieg. Der Fels ist griffig. Mit grundlegenden Klettererfahrungen ist der Abstieg problemlos. Auf halbem Wege geht das Stahlseil ohnehin in eine Leiter über. Unten zu Beginn auf veralgte, glitschige Partien achten. Dann gibt es zwei Möglichkeiten in die Höhle. Entweder durch das frische Flusswasser oder entlang des Fels, aus dem lauwarmes Wasser dringt. Durch den Fluss ist vielleicht Wasserpegel abhängig. Bei mir sah die Strömung teilweise stark aus; ich konnte jedoch überall gegen die Strömung anschwimmen und darin stehen, obwohl es die 2 Tage zuvor viel geregnet hat (Anfang September). Am Fels lang sieht es abenteuerlich aus; der Fels ist jedoch griffig. Ich konnte dort gut lang. Klettererfahrung ist hilfreich. In der Höhle überrascht eine Tropfsteinhöhle mit teils glatt geschliffenen Gestein (aber griffig) und vielen Farbtönen. Fotos dazu haben andere bereits gepostet.
