I love this place! It is a hermitage. And a monk (or monks) still live there! If you do not go to Tatev using the ropeway, you can check this place after or before you visit the Devi's bridge. When you get to Devil's bridge, just turn left and go this way till you reach the river. You have to walk for 15 or 20 minutes along the riverbank till you get to the hermitage. A bit of information is shared on the Wings of Tatev as it passes overhead. The fact that it is so isolated - mentioned negatively in some reviews - is on the contrary a big plus! It feels like it is all yours. The only way to access is via the (hard) trail from the monastery up the steep hill or a pleasant walk...
