Around 90min hike from the city center of Dilijan. Map was available in hikearmenia app. Nice walk through town, later passing by farms and in the end the route becomes calm and quiet. Be aware of wild dogs though. Had to defend ourselves with sticks. You could take a taxi for the first 80% of the route, but it's not necessary. The last ascend can only be made hiking up. Up at the monastery it is a peaceful and holy place with an...

This and the other monastery nearby are well worth a visit. Quite spooky and really unique. People still pray here and leave offerings. Hike Armenia has trail leading up hear from the center of Dilijan. Forget that. Most of the hike is just along the road. Take a taxi to the foot of the mountain and shave 6km off the 8km...

A beautiful old monastery in Dilijan. It's free to visit. The trail to go there isn't difficult, but a long distance from the center. I suppose it is 8 km from there. It's easier to get to than the Matosavank Monastery. There are 2 churches there. No body is really there. So you may find yourself alone when...
