Today I had visitors from Queensland touring the wineries in the Barossa Valley. The last winery was Tscharkeys which they had visited several times before and where they had purchased large quantities of wine. They were very surprised to be met at the door by an aggressive woman named Dianna who told them there was no room for them and to return in 20 minutes. When they eventually managed to enter the premises this lady Dianna was very aggressive to all visitors at the winery and even to the bar staff who I was told were very pleasant under pressure from this lady. My friends ended up buying $450 worth of wine from your winery only because that's the wine they wanted to take back to Queensland with them. May I remind you that there are hundreds of wineries in the Barossa who have pleasant and welcoming staff and who also have excellent wines. I have many visitors staying with me from interstate and overseas and Tscharkeys is now one winery I will not be recommending them to visit. May I suggest that this Dianna should attend a customer service course so that she may be able to interact with people in a more customer...
Read moreTscharke’s is the best winery experience in the Barossa. (I might also be the best kept secret in the Barossa - as it’s not listed on tourism experience websites and so I only heard about it from a friend). Wow am I pleased we visited the cellar door on December 27. The customer service was amazing. The place so tastefully and meticulously designed and decorated - like something out of Harry Potter. We were allowed to wander downstairs to the incredibly majestic underground cellar and stroll through the attic past some beautiful artwork before heading to the bar for some wine tasting. We were allowed to sit outside to taste with the most peaceful and calming setting in the valley A looking across the hills and vineyards, it didn’t feel at hot as it does at other wineries in the area. Although I am torn when I think back to the experience as next time I might sit at the bar to absorb all the incredible knowledge of the staff. All delicious wines, I usually try to buy only 1 bottle at each winery that I visit just for the memory, but here I couldn’t resist - I bought 4. Thank you Tscharke’s!!...
Read moreHonestly, this vineyard was something else. The Shiraz and Grenache were next level so smooth, rich, and full of flavor. You could really taste the quality and care in every glass. I do apologise I forgot the lady’s name who served us (German woman) she was outstanding, took the time out to explain how the wines were made and the details about the character of each bottle. Thank you
The outdoor setting was absolutely stunning like a scene out of a movie. It had this peaceful, dreamy vibe that made you want to stay for hours. And the cellar door? Gorgeous. The design, the atmosphere, the little details… everything was on point. You can tell a lot of thought went into creating the space.
It wasn’t just a wine tasting it felt like a full experience. Beautiful wine, beautiful surroundings, and just that unreal feeling like you’ve stepped into somewhere really special. Already planning...
