Just now close to sunset at the lake I found some bottles of GCV in the wine compartmented of my campervan and I thought that's the right moment to celebrate a lovely evening with an 2015 Alices Shiraz 17% (!). After uncorking it tasts a bit flat and average, more like 12%. You are disappointed with a wine of such a big name. You talk or eat a bit and forget the wine. Time goes by. You have another sip. Amazing - you are hit by the change of taste. Light fruit, lightly vanilla and peppery in the nose, intensive dark red fruits like cherry, strawberries, plum on the palate with a peppery note like it should be with a shiraz.
