Pleasant walk, but there are better ones in the area. Lookout is small and behind a lot of tall trees (not up on a cliff edge as I expected), so you can just see the top of the lighthouse far in the distance. Another hiker turned up while I was there, looked uncertain and said to me "is this meant to be the lookout??" so I'm not the only one underwhelmed. If really you want a short walk and are up that way anyway, it's fine. I wouldn't make a special trip out just for this location though. (BTW the lighthouse area is not free to enter, so if you want to see it, you'll have to pay to get in unfortunately. The lookout is really far away and not a great alternative.)

Read moreThe lighthouse has been closed due to a mercury leak so you can't visit it. We were charged $25 and all you can do is wander around a few derelict buildings and a mown grass area. There aren't really any decent ocean views. The toilets did not have any running water with which to wash your hands.
