We found that the Logans Beach Platform is well made, and secure. It has multiple levels, and access to the beach. I think it's well designed as thanks to the multi levels, a lot of people can use the platforms, and still see what's going on. I managed to see some whales, but they were a little too far out to see them properly. Of course when I used the zoom lens, I could see the whales, but even then, they were a bit shy. I will have to add some of those pictures another time as they are on my camera, and laptop, as I haven't had a chance to send any to my phone yet. I plan on returning to Warrnambool for another chance to see the whales, and have a relaxing time, away from home. I highly recommend a visit to Warrnambool, and Logans Beach for a great time. In the Summer the area is great for a getaway, and a swim, but being an ocean beach, be wary of rips. Warrnambool is also a great place to stay, and visit the Great Ocean Road, and the 12 Apostles , and the many other...

Annually between June and September, Southern Right whales return to the waters of this beach to calve. The whales often swim within a hundred metres of the shore. They can be viewed from a specially constructed platform in the sand dunes or from the beach. The waters are much lower than the platform, thus offering excellent whale spotting opportunity. We didn't see any whales during our visit here. Popular with tourists. Wear comfy shoes, take water, wear hat, sunscreen. Parking is easy on the access road. Beautiful place. Lots to see. Great place for photography. Free entry. Uneven terrain,...

I'd recommend everyone visiting the town to head over to Logans Beach Whale Watching Platform. There's ample parking, and it's not far from the town center. Whale watching is a matter of luck; we waited a while the first time and were lucky to spot whales, but this time was a bit disappointing. However, I still encourage everyone to come here. It's a great spot for whale watching with seats and windbreaks, so you can stay warm even on windy days. Plus, Logans Beach is a haven for surfers, so you don't have to worry about getting bored here. It offers a bit of everything for nature...
