My husband and I are cellar door enthusiasts and regularly explore at least 10 new wineries each year of which quality and taste are most important! Haldon Wines employs excellent workmanship/quality using true traditional wine making methods - thrilled with our discovery - mostly French Oaked barrel fementation (FAN!) and the first time I’ve come across a French Oaked Rose 🌹in Australia - I’m normally allergic to sulphites, milk and other addictives and react to mass produced wines, I love the fact that Haldon does not use too much of The above mentioned but still has the complexity and taste in the structure of the wines! Very Humble and understated presentation cellar and certainly in my top 10 experiences thus far! Thank you Tracey - my first winery review because I feel you deserve this on so many levels - please...
Read moreAbsolute must visit in Beechworth. Cannot speak highly enough of Tracey, her wines and the Haldon property.
Despite being very busy on the day we visited, we were treated to a private and intimate tasting that made you fell like the only people there. Extremely glad that we booked lunch and enjoyed an awesome platter packed with local produce. We could quite of easily sat there in the beautiful gardens all afternoon and drank wine; I don’t think Tracey would’ve minded either!
The wines speak for themselves, appropriately aged before release, displaying expert craftsmanship in the execution of a minimal intervention process. We definitely look forward to visiting again...
