Bindijine Beach — Attraction in Beecroft Peninsula

Bindijine Beach is another beautiful beach on the Beecroft Peninsula, accessed by driving through the ADF live fire weapons range after signing in at the checkpoint. It sounds scarier than it is and there’s no fee.

The navy has been bombing, shelling and shooting this place up since the 1880s, which perversely keeps it all pristine and serene. Humans are weird.

Bindijine is just around the corner from the very famous and over-touristed Honeymoon Beach, which it shares a huge car park with, but it feels a million miles from that Sartrean hell.

It was even quieter than usual today, as a heavy overnight fog blanketed the area, and didn’t start to burn away until 10am. It meant we had the place to ourselves until the sun finally emerged, bar for one lonely fisherman at the far end...

Honestly walking along this place you could be on a tropical island, it’s that gorgeous. There is a small picnic table located just before the beach if you wanted to stop by for lunch. There is white sand for days...
