We found this by turning off the main roadway to avoid a painful long traffic jam last Week. A good view and met people coming up from the valley floor who made us wish we'd had the time to try the hike ourselves. But the real highlight was the public toilet, our guest even took a photo of its inner workings as they had never seen anything like it, and standing outside I wondered why there was so much giggling from my 2 lady friends...then I had to experience it myself.....no spoilers,...

This is no longer a free campground at the lookout car park as per the sign but you can hike and camp at the acacia flat and leave your car at the parking area. The drive in is on new flat tar road with 30 new car spots as well as a section for tow vehicles , like caravans...Spectacular views.. and the hike down to the blue gum forest, wow... exhausting but worth it. There are new smelly drop down toilets in the car...

Access is now bitumen all the way to the carpark where there are toilets and picnic benches. A short walk with some gradual steps to the lookout where there are spectacular views. Another lookout is a short walk down some more steps. The walk continues on down into the bottom of the valley but is very steep and long, especially coming back up. Well worth the effort if you're familiar with grade 4...

I think Perrys Look down is called that because this dude called Perry went there and looked down. That is my professional hypothesis anyway:-) and thank God he did. This is a stunning spot. A shirt walk down the stairs and you are literally on the edge of the valley. Honestly you will struggle to get a better view of the canyon. Don't miss it.

Beautiful views, with easy parking and easy getting around. For the hike down- Hard hike challenge for those looking to push themselves, bad for those with knee issues. Beautiful flats at the bottom, perfect for camping and taking a break. Level 5 hike
