Absolutely horrible experience, if I were you I would avoid this place at all costs. It's over expensive, very low quality food and completely arrogant waiters and ground staff.

My recommendation for those who are reading this keep going to anabay or salamander Bay and hit up the taverns there. They have amazing food. Brilliant service and a stunning atmosphere.

Now for the full details. We came in on bikes being a beautiful day. Thought we'd stop in for lunch and a beer. We parked the bikes in the shade. There were no signs saying do not park here or staff parking only, it was open slather.

So we walked up and found a table in the shade, it was already 32° C and will feeling the heat and very keen for a beer. After sitting down, ordering a beer, settling in and ordering our food. We were then told by one of the staff members who bought my dish out (I'll get to that shortly) That we had to move because the table was already booked. If there was something clearly saying that the table was reserved we wouldn't have sat there in the first place. However, it wasn't clear so we had no idea.

This waitress, french-speaking lady, then took my food away and told us we had to relocate to another table.

Finally, after finding another table in the shade, we all sat down and my so-called crispy pork belly was served in front of me.

Now this dish is $23 and it had a handful of pork belly and a very little amount of what they thought was pineapple salad I think. The pork belly was like chewing gum. It was flavorless, far from crispy and a big challenge to eat.

My mate who was with me was Kane on the prawns and salad. This dish was $28 and it came with three prawns including the heads which were already cut off and three pieces of green rocket I think.

Locally you can pick up half a kilo of tiger prawns for about $20.

My mate went and said something about the meal because he was completely disgusted at the price and the value in which we were sort of compensated for.

I'm leaving. We've come down to our $30,000 bikes to find them being watered and covered in bore water from a sprinkler that wasn't there when we arrived.

This was the straw that broke the camel's back, the staff were notified and some very large overweight middle-aged individual in a high-vis vest came down and whinged to us saying that we shouldn't have parked there. I asked him to show me where the signage says "no parking" But there wasn't one because someone had taken it down well before we had arrived. So I explained to this individual that it was not our problem and this looked like parking for customers.

Now I'm a local, I live 15 minutes from this place and the four occasions I've been here over the last 12 months. I've not had any luck with the service or the food quality. If it was my choice we would have moved to Salamander Bay or Anna Bay where there are two amazing taverns with much better food quality and outstanding service.

The staff here just did not care about their service or the issues with saturating our $30,000 motorbikes in bore water.

Don't come here, it's over expensive and the food quality is well below average. You won't leave here with a smile on your face, I was totally disgusted and I can assure you I will never return.

I'm hoping you've read this review in full and seriously reconsider where you are going for lunch, this place had so much potential back in the day, but it is completely failing right now, it's failing the locality and the reputation of this amazing area...

BEWARE WHEN BOOKING EVENTS AT MURRAY’S My partner and I had the worst experience planning our wedding at Murray’s. They turned what should have been a fun experience into one full of stress and resentment. We initially booked our March 2022 wedding in June 2021 with Jo-Ann, the previous event coordinator. We paid a deposit and were confident that our wedding day would go smoothly with her at the helm. Fast forward to November 2021 post the second NSW covid lockdown, we noticed that Murray’s had made some “upgrades” during the break, so we decided to email Jo-Ann to organise a meet up. To our surprise, the email bounced, which was our first sign that something was wrong. When we contacted the venue directly we were told that Stacey had taken over the role of event coordinator. We met with her a short time after this and noticed the first red flag - when having a conversation with her about the planning of our day she said to us “I find weddings so annoying”. This shocked us because wasn’t she supposed to be the wedding coordinator? Stacey showed us around the new venue and began to explain all of the changes. Without missing a beat, she told us that our reception space was now a restaurant so we “obviously” couldn’t have our reception there, we could either have it on the open deck or in a dirty marquee that would not comfortably fit our 120 guests plus a dance floor. This left us with no good wet weather option for the reception or ceremony. The second blow came when Stacey told us that the new restaurant “William” would be open on the night of our wedding. This concerned us because we initially agreed to pay a $3000 venue hire fee that guaranteed us exclusive use of the property for the night of our wedding. Importantly, this particular agreement was stipulated in the hire contract that was signed by ourselves and Jo-Ann. When we questioned this and demanded Murray’s honour the terms of the signed contract, we were told by Stacey that if we didn’t like it, we could have our money back. Given we were only 3 months out from our wedding, this was incredibly frustrating to hear. It was clear to me that Murray’s wanted to used their position of power over us to try and line their pockets more, and to make matters worse, they never once apologised to us for the inconvenience. My partner and I decided to cancel our wedding with Murray’s, and while we were able to get a refund of our deposit, we will never be returning to the venue to support them. Our guests will do the same because they know how much this horrible experience has tainted our wedding planning fun. We are happy to be taking our money elsewhere knowing that they have lost the opportunity for the huge amount of revenue that our wedding would have provided...

Nothing about this place is seamless or well thought out. Looks good on the outside but once you actually sit down and start your experience, everything is a hassle. This review is based on our second / final visit. By trying to be hipster and overly-trendy, they’ve truly missed the mark on so many important aspects in customer service and experience. This place is often referred to as just “Murray’s Brewery” rather than “B Farm by Murray’s Brewery”, so make sure you check out the reviews for “Murray’s Brewery” - you’ll gain a better insight.

Firstly, the website said booked out, yet when we rocked up (we were nearby so we thought may as well drop in) the place was pretty much empty. We had a choice of 15+ free tables.

Secondly, the venue ran out of running water by lunch time. I understand that unexpected things happen, but at least go around offering bottles of water to your visitors and cop the cost. People were sweating like crazy and kept going to the water station to find no water. Not great.

Thirdly, there’s two table scanners - one for pizza only and one for other food only. So if you want a pizza and a burger, you’ll need to process and pay for two separate orders. In addition, you have to go pick your order up from the kitchen / pizza oven anyway. Also… you can’t order drinks from the table scanner. Very poorly executed.

This place is notorious for shocking drink service also, and they have a sliver of shade to stand under whilst you’re in the line. On average, we waited in line, in the sun, for 10+ minutes. There was only 2 people behind the bar and they were nice, but they were painfully slow. You can see the displeased look on peoples faces the longer they stand in line in the sun.

My partner got 2 text messages to say that his burger was ready to be picked up. He got to the kitchen and they said it isn’t ready yet, so he waited 5 minutes and went to check again.

According to everyone on our table to bought burgers, they were tasteless and well below average. And we paid ~ $26 for them! Rip off.

Invest in some fly/bug zappers for each table and around the venue. We spent the entire time swatting flies away from our food and faces.

The only half compliment I have for this place is… great tasting pizza. But it would want to be for $30 and the size of a kids meal.

We will never...

Oh what a shame to do this to such a beautiful setting. This is a such a gorgeous location for a brewery, and we were excited to see what they have done with this location in recent times. They have either hired the rudest people on the planet, or the owners don't treat or pay them well and they all seem angry. We turned up at 3.45pm on a Saturday for a beer on our way home (advertised close time is 5pm, and happened to make the mistake of entering the first building on the premises, and being barked at by the young girl mopping the floor "THE KTICHEN'S CLOSED!" We had walked in wanting to try beers (cos it's a brewery), and we're yelled at without any of us opening our mouths. We went out to the beautiful outdoor area (only redeeming feature of the place) at 3.45 and pretty much the entire area was tables packed up, tables stacked, so unwelcoming. We tried a few beers between us, which wrre average. We went into the shop on the way out to look at the goodies, around 415pm (advertised closing time was 5pm), and the shop attendant was busy counting the till. We asked a question about one of the sweets and got a very non chalent response about it. What a disappointment, people would spend money and time here if the hospitality and environment connected with their customers.

Just tried the new menu here today for and lunch and wow what an amazing improvement (the last menu was good too). The portion sizes are massive and food is tasty to boot. Murrays now have reopened their new facility and it looks fantastic, I really like the new styling much better and bigger than the last facility which burnt down a few years ago. For meals we had two entrees and two mains. Entrees where spicy jerk chicken wings and pork belly bites both where delicious however the chicken wings are not too hot (fairly mild). The mains where pork ribs and king salmon salad. These where great the salmon was cooked nicely and salad was yum. The ribs where bloody massive and chips are really nice. This is one of the best places to eat in Port Stephens and the service was really good ex specially as we arrived after they had 250 day tourists having lunch here and I am sure they would have been tired but they all seemed relaxed and friendly chatting to the clientele as they moved around. Murrays please keep this menu and standards we have come to love. Great job.

A picturesque brewery nestled amidst the idyllic Port Stephens. The outdoor atmosphere in a relatively small area was nothing short of spectacular, with iconic yellow umbrellas and metal chairs providing a stunning backdrop to the brewery's rustic charm. The beers on offer were a veritable delight, each one boasting a distinctive character and an expertly crafted flavor profile. From the crisp lagers to the ciders and seltzers as well as the bold fruit sour pints, the beers were a testament to the brewmaster's artistry and dedication to quality. The staff was friendly. The food menu was also impressive, with a range of delectable dishes that complemented the beers perfectly. B Farm by Murray's is a brewery that epitomizes the essence of a quintessential Australian experience. Its natural beauty, combined with the expertly crafted beers and delicious food, make for an unforgettable outing that is sure to delight even the most discerning beer aficionados.
