The restaurant is set against a gorgeous valley back drop! That was the only highlight for us. We arrived for a booked wine tasting, the place was empty, we were then ushered to a corner table at the side of the restaurant with no view. When we asked if we could sit at another table to enjoy the view, we received attitude from the manager, however he obliged and let us have a nicer table. He then advised that the wine tasting was only 30mls not 50mls per glass but for the same price listed and that some of the wines weren’t available. We chose our wines and they arrived with a leaflet with a small blurb on each wine and that was the end of the experience! The manager disappeared and we were left to go through the wines on our own. We chose the 5 wine tasting, and they were all awful! They were horribly sweet and all just tasted pretty much the same. Even the red was sweet. The rosé was practically a dessert wine. One tasted like cough syrup! The manager made no attempt to check in on what we thought or if we wanted to purchase any of them…my guess is they don’t want feedback, at least not from sober guests. Some of the menu items sounded delicious, however based on the wines, we chose not to get food as well so I cannot comment on the quality of the food. All in all, it was an overpriced and underwhelming wine tasting experience that I cannot recommend. We left wondering how they have the google rating they have! Maybe it’s down to limited options in the area and the view? Maybe the food is great? …We won’t be visiting again to find out. We had a much better experience at the next cellar...
Read moreAbsolutely delicious food with lovely owners~ I hate the term hidden gem that gets thrown around in the Sydney CBD, but this place is actually hidden away from the bustle of the city. Started with the salmon crudo, cured in beetroot, and it had a great bite to it. If I had it, I would totally eat this with a lightly toasted sourdough as an afternoon snack. The secret family recipe chicken liver topped with wine jelly was so light that I could have ate it by the spoonful 🤣 bought some to take home Lamb meatballs were SOOO tender, my mother in law's favourite! The cauliflower had a slight crunch topped with dukkah making them addictive and came in such a generous serving! The creamy coriander hommus was dreamy goodness~ The top tier dish, which made me choose this place, is the duck baklava! Stuffed with shredded duck, the light sweetness of the baklava filo pastry cuts into the fattiness of the duck. Absolutely divine 🤤 Would love to come back, perhaps for a tiny home stay on site! Also can't wait to try this homemade...
Read moreWe came for lunch on Christmas Eve. Follow the dirt road past the Murray’s Farm brewery and head up the dirt road up the hill.
We had a lovely table overlooking the canopy of gum trees with glimpses of the valley to Tilligerry Creek and Tanilba Bay to the west.
The Middle Eastern food was exceptional! Most probably the best I’ve ever tasted. The cauliflower dish was an explosion of flavours in your mouth. The sesame crusted tuna was light and refreshing. A perfect dish for summer!
The wine tasting offerings I felt it was on the pricey side for 50mls a glass. But I guess that is the price you pay for a bespoke boutique winery. We were a bit confused as I thought there would be a cellar door and separate restaurant, but it’s all combined and wine tasting is listed as part of the drinks menu.
The letdown was the 3 large tables of diners, which made it quite noisy on the enclosed verandah. There was only one other table of 2 people, so it wasn’t as relaxing as we would have hoped. It was still a...
