I have done a couple of tours with Jack Sim - the Bloody Brisbane coach tour on the 70th anniversary of the death of Betty Shanks, and more recently the Ghost Tour or Nundah Cemetery. Jack has been our host on both occasions and he is absolutely wonderful at his craft: incredibly knowledgeable about the history of our city, and very passionate with his story telling that really captures the essence of these tours. My friends and I have a few more tours that we are planning to do this year, and getting to see Jack and his team in action and doing what they love makes it an incredible experience. I would highly encourage anyone who is interested in learning the ghostly tales or criminal past in and around the city of Brisbane to embark on one of the Ghost or Crime Tours Australia sessions, you will not be disappointed! Thank you to Jack and team for keeping these tales alive and making these tours a memorable night out šŸ™‚

This is a walking tour so make sure you wear comfy shoes. This is not the best ghost tour I've been on. The guide was a little...hmmm... eccentric? I asked his name and he replied " I am guide". So, from the Brisbane Arcade meeting point we made our way to City Hall. Where we stood, and stood and stood some more listening to a history lesson. The kids in the group lost interest as did some adults. From there we moved to the casino and again the same. Walked down a couple of dark allies. Stood across the road and looked at the Commissariat Store Museum. Sof if you're happy to walk and listen to "guide" talk, you'll enjoy yourself. If you're looking for a ghost tour, this is not the one for you. A little tip to the organisers...perhaps walking through the store museum as the big finale? That would be cool and completely unique.

My friends and I did the Toowong Cemetery Ghost tour with Andrew on Friday night! Hands down would recommend to anyone visiting or residing in Brisbane!! The weather was gloomy and wet, and the wildlife were like paid actors, with bats, frogs, and insects chirping along in the background of the storytelling. Together it all just elevated the spooky atmosphere of the experience! šŸ‘» Andrew was incredible! He holds so much knowledge and passion on the extensive history of this cemetery, and the lives laid to rest there. This was obvious through the way he was able to captivate his audience with the compelling stories told on its history. It is very clear that a LOT of research has gone in to putting this tour together. It was also nice to hear that some of the ticket prices are put back into restoring this beautiful cemetery.

Could be a lot more interactive, or let you explore a few more areas. The tour guide was very informative, but it felt like you were getting a lecture on the history of the jail. Was hoping for more prisoner stories about the goings on in the jail, and a more engaging experience with the guide. Unfortunately, it was not what I expected so was left feeling more than a little disappointed, especially after paying the $45 fee.

In response to your rebuttal about my review, which is 100% my opinion on my experience of the tour, I gave you two stars, not one. My intention was not to tarnish your ā€œreputationā€, it was to give an honest opinion on what I thought. The guide, who told the group repeatedly that he was called in last minute, he’s a supervisor, and he handled more of the ā€œpaperworkā€ as he put it, basically recited the stories almost word for word from the booklet that I was given at the end of the tour. It would have been nice to have a bit more interactivity, for example the Melbourne jail tour is engaging, has activities involving exploring around that particular part of the jail, and has a lot more facts and history put up for everyone to get involved and have a good read. Also, we only explored two areas, not three as you said we had. All in all, in my opinion, from the experience I had, I give it two stars. It’s not worth the $45. In my opinion. Which your guide said to post a review whether it be good, bad or otherwise.

22/03/2021 My apologies for such a late reply, as I thought that this whole experience/ordeal was over and done with a month ago. I didn’t realise that you had replied to my response. It just seems like we’re going around in a pointless circle so I’ll keep it short and sweet, just so there’s no confusion.

My criticism was initially the fact that I felt very underwhelmed by your tour, I found it to be very drawn out and a bit cringe worthy in some parts. Your ā€œghost tourā€ did not state there would be tacky little tricks at the expense of your patrons, for example getting everyone to stare at a window and then ringing the bell for a jump scare. Let’s not even talk about the loud laughing at the end of a certain prisoner’s tale... So yes you do set out to scare people then, it was just really poorly executed and tacky. At least at Movie-world’s Fright-night, I would be getting my money’s worth.

I do realise how much work has been put in to create this tour, and have no doubt that everything is historically accurate, and your team work very hard at getting this right. Absolutely no issues there at all. My criticism now is the fact that at the end of the tour your guide was very clear that the company welcomes any and all reviews, good, bad or otherwise. My initial review was purely based on my personal experience of the tour, but you seem to lack the ability to comprehend that my opinion is my opinion. I have no intentions of damaging your reputation, you look like you’re doing that just fine all by yourself by arguing with me on my opinion, which apparently I am not allowed to have even though it...

Let me start bye saying Andy the host last night šŸŒ™ was great at his job , friendly also has a great voice and vibe telling story's about those upon the cemetery laid to rest ,

He highlighted everything to know about the place , Cracked a few jokes also ,

I am not religious but am spiritual šŸ™ and enjoyed every moment of the tour ,

I seen at least 12 movements from the corner of my eye šŸ‘

I also felt cold at one of the graves you could feel there presence for sure ,

My favourite of the night was the moving statue , of course I knew we were looking at a grave that moves but were or how I didn't know I stood behind the man's statue looking up and down for movements, to my surprise I looked at his ears and head to notice the head tilt to the left then the right , I said to my partner his head just moved , she had done reaserch previously on what the statue did I hadn't when I told her his head moved she said that's exactly what happens so from the bottom of my heart this statue does move when the tours on rather then stand front on come to the side and look at his head from the back focus on his ears and watch his head move , cars to pass and this could be a illusion how its built when passing cars lights hit it this I don't know but in 3 mins of staring at his ears from the rear of his grave I definitely seen his head move , I believe 100 percent it does ,

Highly recommend this tour especially with Andy, cheap eventful night šŸŒ™

I don't like cemetery at night but Andy takes u away from that scared zone and focus into the history and amazing graves

High five to the...

We did the Boggo road jail ghost tour, the night started off weird as there was an "emergency", we'd just started the tour when a bell went off and a man got pushed over however nothing was explained to us on what really happened other than an alarm went off. Waited 30minutes kind of in the dark on what was happening before we continued the tour. We had Tegan as our guide, she's a nice person however and I've seen other reviews saying she speaks very slow and unnaturally and focuses too much on remembering the script. We definitely noticed this however as the tour continued I think she got into the flow of things and became better at telling the stories. She even made me jump a few times as I was invested in what she was saying. I do think the tour is more of a history lesson rather than about ghosts which is pretty disappointing since it's a ghost tour (which is of no fault of the tour guide, they're just told what to say)I wasn't truly expecting to see any ghosts but it would of been nice if they'd spoken more about hauntings other prisoners had experienced, or told really scary stories. I do think because the jail is now surrounded by other buildings which give off lights and sound it does take away from the spooky factor (again not the fault of the tour itself) but I think if you're wanting more of a creepy type tour consider some of the other tours they provide but if you want a fun little history lesson with a couple somewhat spooky stories than I think the boggo road jail tour would be...
