I was craving some korean soup so googled and found that this place in sunnybank was kicking up some korean dish so went down,, considering the atmosphere of the place,, best to just come with a friend, wouldnt come here for a special occasion, something very casual... Ordered myself milkis with the spicy korean style pork sausage soup with 2 rice and the korean chive pancake,, i also added extra vegetables, noodles and sausages because i do love a good korean style pork sausage soup.. I eat alot and usually they give you tiny portions but they gave out massive portion, dont think you would need the extra additional portion, the pancake was massive too! Though taste wise was very disappointed, maybe it was because i came late about 945pm but the soup had very weak flavour with chilli oil and what made it worse is the old frozen meat taste you get when they just leave meat for a very long time,,, to exaggerate this taste it would be like having a glass water with chilli oil inside with an old pork essence.. the pancake was very chewy and tasty, fried up very well as you could taste the nice crisp with the soft chewy texture but again had little chives with no vegetables inside literally just a very expensive flour... I didnt get my korean kick and was also disappointed at the little side dish, just some very old/reused pickled radish and some seaweed.. NO KIMCHI!!!??? Heard their marinated crab is nice but...
Read moreFirst time here & it definitely has potential to be amazing. Was trying to find a Korean place that was open for lunch on a Sunday to catch up with my friend.
At first I thought the place was closed as there didn’t seem to be any indication it was open until someone walked out of the door as I waited for my friend. As we walked in, we were just asked using two fingers to indicate ‘two people?’ & then given a sheet to scan the QR code & order.
Our food came out promptly & smelt really good. As you can see, our sides are non-existent…not sure why & we were topped up either. My meal was delicious however there wasn’t much in it & my friend’s meal was the same. The environment isn’t the most inviting, really needs an update as it makes the place not look tidy & clean even though there is care taken.
No room for mobility vehicles or prams, there is room out the front but that is your only option. Outside area is covered but no ideal if it’s really sunny/hot or really cold.
Plenty of free parking around the back & out the front, there are toilets outside to go to if need be.
Honestly, if we were greeted with a smile, had a normal portion in our meal & sides it would have been a better experience. Maybe it was just the meals we picked but a little hospitality goes a long way.
My friend has been here before covid & it was subpar then so as much as I hope there would be an improvement - I...
Read moreThere aren’t many places that specialise in Korean soups so I made the drive to Noonane as I was craving Korean beef soup.
While waiting for our food, I was extremely put off by the fact that the lady preparing our food was sick, coughing and sneezing in the kitchen and I wonder if there were proper hygiene procedures in place (a few days later I got sick with the flu, and I don’t want to say that I definitely got the flu from eating here but it is of course a possibility). Sick employees should definitely stay away from the kitchen.
Also, most other restaurants have been putting procedures in place due to coronavirus but I’m honestly not sure if noonane has made the appropriate changes. They still have side dishes as self-serve which I thought was...
