This was absolutely a highlight of a recent trip to Broken Hill. I could have spent so much more time there. The two gentlemen who conducted the tour - Larry and ‘Ducky’ (ex-miners) were both so knowledgeable explaining the history of mining and the way the museum’s structure resembles a mine and the dioramas which are incredibly detailed only add to the experience. The hundreds of artworks all done by Kevin White using crushed local rocks and minerals are worth the visit on their own. There is a section showing how these were made which makes you appreciate them even more. This museum is also very accessible and has seating throughout. The doll collection by the original owner’s wife is also outstanding. I would go as far as to say if you have limited time in Broken Hill and could only visit one or two attractions this one should definitely be on your list. Entry fee at the time of my visit was $12.50 for an adult which was more...

Came across this tour completely by accident. I thought we were going to have a look at a small collection of local art but instead paid our entry and then got pointed into a room where our guide then started giving us a history lesson in mining, past & present, complete with displays & artifacts, very well informed and really fascinating. This was yet another one of those things that made me feel like we could have spent twice as long in Broken Hill as we did - we were there 4 nights but the more time we spent there the more interesting it got - so yeah totally worth the stop and the time...

Very interesting to hear the history of Broken Hill and learn about the mining experience from someone very knowledgeable.

It would be ideal for this museum to be purchased and housed at the Miners Memorial up on the hill. A ready-made exhibit available that’s so affordable to purchase and relocate.

Fantastic potential too for an expanded and interactive mine experience to replace the old Delprat Mine experience I took the family to back in the 2000s.

Let’s hope Broken Hill Council and local mining corporations can put together a plan for housing the current infrastructure, and...

If you visit Broken Hill, you must see this place. Kevin and Betty White have poured their heart in creating this museum. Their in-depth knowledge about mining at Broken Hill and the history of Broken Hill is impressive and they explain it with passion. Kevin's unique paintings made with minerals and Betty's lovely dolls are a treat for adults and kids alike. You will understand why and how mining at Broken Hill was so significant when you hear them explain the whole thing.

Our guide Larry a vetean of the local mining industry was very informative giving a wonderful insight into the mining history of Broken Hill. The museum has a number of dioramas and mining memorabilia which our guide used to explain the workings of the mines and how the methods have changed since mining first began in Broken Hill. There is a vast display of mineral artwork by Kevin "Bushy"White who developed and built the museum over many years. Highly recommend a visit .

If you only do one thing in Broken Hill this is it. We went just before a bus tour and Larry said we would be better coming back so he opened up for just us the next day for our tour. He is so informative and we went away with a great understanding of mining and how Broken Hill has contributed to Australia. If the council don't take on this museum it will eventually be lost forever
