Goldfields Track (start) — Attraction in Buninyong

I rode the track from Ballarat to Creswick and back. It is a pleasant ride on a mountain bike, through some lovely bush, with enough challenges to keep it interesting. Signage, however, is very poor in both direction, resulting in much confusion, lost time and wasted energy!! Some markers were very faded, some hidden by vegetation and in places non-existent!! I met other cyclists who found the same, including one guy who tried to ride from Creswick to Castlemaine but gave up when he lost the track several times. It would be easy to get lost here, with tracks everywhere, so whoever is promoting the track as a tourist activity needs to get the signage sorted out properly! I made the trip because I had active mapping, and wouldn't travel along this...

A good place to take your MTB or hybrid. Definitely not recommended for road bikes or anything with...
