we walked up this very high lookout, amazed that it is only 719m above sea-level, as it feels much higher. The road is very windy and the signposts are confusing when it diverges into up & down. However the views are stunning, and we would have loved knowing what we were looking at, rather than guessing. There were toilets, picnic tables & a gazebo at the base. We nearly overshot the lookout as it isn't easy to see...

Am a Buninyong local and regularly walk up the mount at weekends, often via Union Jack Reserve for an alternative to the Goldfields Track route. As of my last walk in mid January 2022, the South Walk was a bit of a clamber with a lot of big trees blocking the track following a recent storm. If you like to hike, that's a place. But if you are like me, minimum physical abilities, you can drive up to the mountain and come down. As usual, surrounding scene are breathtaking. But there's no guide, no one to help or no caves to visit. MUST carry a compass and a satellite phone for safety.

Excellent place to visit if you are visiting Ballarat. Not many people were around when we went there. You will have to for about 4 floors to get view point. It's pretty cold up there. It's worth going and enjoy Ballarat view from top.
