Ben activated the shielding as they passed the power switch; the generators started powering up as the two men entered the control room. Jack ushered the young apprentice in front of him and put his hand on Ben’s shoulder. He sat at what would have been Ben’s station and loaded the frequency inversion software, a crude program designed to synchronise with the mass application from pod 1, at exactly the right moment (well not a moment to be precise but a few incremental nudges on the Planck scale) it would fire the inverted particles and form what Jack hypothesised would be a positive/negative balanced wormhole. There were other permutations of course, some bad, some horrendous and a few pretty funny ones that mostly involve everyone in the universe being sucked into oblivion. Ben smeared his palms down his lab coat, raised the chair behind him and checked his monitor; he set the screen for mass application parameters and adjusted the controls for himself. He flicked to the camera feed from pod 1, it pointed inside the pod’s front clear panel, with different filters for various light spectrums, the cameras had to have their own shielding from the electromagnetic equipment, Ben double checked the camera at the 2nd pod, looked up to Jack and gave the...
Read moreGreat brewery - it’s a must while in Byron!
Big open air/space industrial style building with plenty of seating, good for groups. We first came on a Sunday afternoon (around 2pm). Despite being very busy we got seated right away.
Food is great - we got the BBQ platter which felt like a meal fit for a king. It says it feeds two but could easily feed three. Pricing was really fair too. All the other food we saw looked good too.
And most importantly - the beer: they have wide beer selection with frequently rotating taps (I came twice within a couple day span and they had a few different taps between visits). Every beer we tasted was solid, girlfriend especially liked the Little Dragon / ginger beer.
Bonus: Staff - friendly staff!
Merch - wide selection with some cool designs. Glasses, shirts, hats, etc!
Parking - large sized car parking lot at the front of the brewery with plenty of street parking...
Read moreMar-22: new owners but the vibe is much the same. Food menu is much improved and they now have beers and ciders on tap from other local breweries. We loved the experimental petite IPA (2.8%) and experimental hazy IPA (6.0%). Sad that they don't produce gatherer anymore (someone else produces that now).
Apr-21: You absolutely must do the tour. It's not like some other boring brewery tours where things are pointed out and you just walk around. You learn about the history of beer, stone and woods history (the story behind the name is interesting, Apparently beer used to be made in wooden kegs, and then hot volcanic rocks (stone) was put into the kegs to heat up the beer). You get a welcome beer in arrival and whilst the tour guide is speaking you get to try two more beers. The tour concludes with a small tasting paddle. Well worth the very reasonable price, book ahead as...
